FULAFIA Extends Registrar’s Tenure Until 2028

UNIUYO Teaching Hospital ND/HND Nursing Admission Form is Out 2026/2027

The College of Nursing Sciences, University of Uyo Teaching Hospital (UUTH), Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, has announced admission into its ND/HND Nursing programme for the 2026/2027 academic session. Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates who meet the required admission conditions.

Eligible applicants must have a minimum 2026 UTME score of 150, choose the College of Nursing Sciences, UUTH, as their first choice institution, and be at least 16 years old by November 30, 2026. Candidates who completed a change of institution to the college through the JAMB portal are also eligible to apply. Applicants are required to have credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics in not more than two sittings in WAEC, GCE, SSCE, or NECO.

The University of Uyo (UNIUYO) has inaugurated the newly elected executives of its 32nd Students’ Union Government (SUG), officially beginning their tenure as representatives of the student body.

The inauguration ceremony for the Students’ Union executives and senators was held on Friday, 18 September 2026, at the 1,000-Seater TETFund Auditorium, Main Campus. The event was conducted in line with the directive from the university’s Student Affairs Division.

Federal Polytechnic Nasarawa – FPN

Federal Polytechnic, Nasarawa also commonly known as FedPolyNas or FPN  is a Federal Government-owned polytechnic located in Nasarawa town, the capital of Nasarawa State, Nigeria. Established on 1st July 1983, the institution was founded to foster technological advancement and provide quality technical and vocational education in Nigeria. With over 20,000 students and 28 accredited programmes spread across seven academic schools, FedPolyNas is one of the leading polytechnics in North-Central Nigeria, attracting students from across the country and beyond. All programmes are fully accredited by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE).

History of the Institution

Federal Polytechnic, Nasarawa was established on 1st July 1983 by the Federal Government of Nigeria under Decree No. 33 of 1979, as amended by Decree No. 28 of 1987. Its founding mandate was to provide full-time and part-time training in technology, applied science, commerce, and management, in line with Nigeria’s national development goals.

The polytechnic commenced academic activities on 30th January 1984, with an initial enrolment of 220 students spread across seven departments: Accountancy, Business Administration and Management, Secretarial Studies, Architectural Technology, Estate Management, Building and Quantity Surveying, and Liberal Studies. These departments were divided between two founding schools — the School of Business Administration and the School of Environmental Studies. The institution started with a total staff strength of 223, made up of 57 senior and 166 junior staff.

In its early days, the polytechnic operated out of the Central Primary School as a temporary headquarters. By 1986, it had expanded to offer Higher National Diploma programmes in Business Administration and Management, and Accountancy, marking the beginning of a period of sustained academic growth. Today, FedPolyNas has grown into a major centre of technical education, with over 20,000 students, seven academic schools, and a track record of producing graduates who are leading critical sectors of the economy. The institution hosted the 19th Nigeria Polytechnic Games Association (NIPOGA) events in 2017 and received TETFund support for infrastructure development.

The polytechnic maintains a 70:30 admission ratio in favour of science and technology programmes, in line with Nigeria’s national policy on technological development. Its aggregate score is calculated using 50% from JAMB scores, 30% from Post-UTME scores, and 20% from O’Level grades.

Admission Requirements

ND (National Diploma) Admission

  • A minimum of five (5) O’Level credit passes including English Language and Mathematics, obtained in not more than two sittings in WAEC, NECO, GCE O’Level, or NABTEB.
  • A valid JAMB UTME score is required. Candidates must select Federal Polytechnic, Nasarawa as their first-choice institution.

Fed Poly Nasarawa ND Admission List is Out 2026/2027

The Federal Polytechnic Nasarawa has released the First Batch National Diploma (ND) Admission List for the 2026/2027 academic session. Candidates who applied for admission into the Polytechnic’s ND programmes can now check their admission status and proceed with the required admission procedures.

Admitted candidates are required to log in to the JAMB CAPS portal to accept their admission offer and print their official JAMB admission letter. After completing this step, candidates should proceed to the Federal Polytechnic Nasarawa portal to accept the institution’s admission offer and complete the registration process.

The Polytechnic has also advised candidates who have not uploaded their O’Level results to JAMB CAPS to do so immediately, as registration cannot be completed without the required result upload. All admission and registration processes must be concluded on or before Friday, October 2, 2026.

UNIZIK Announces Hostel Accommodation Fees and Application Dates 2026/2027

Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Awka, has announced the approved hostel accommodation fees and application guidelines for students seeking university hostel residency for the 2026/2027 academic session. The notice applies to students at the Awka and Agulu campuses, including returning students and those applying for hostel accommodation for the first time.

DELSU Admission Vacancies Available for Candidates Yet to Gain Admission, 2026/2027

Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka, has announced available admission vacancies for candidates who participated in the 2026/2027 admission process but were not offered admission in the first batch. The opportunity is available for candidates whose scores meet the approved cut-off marks for the listed programmes.

According to the university, interested candidates are required to change their course or programme through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) portal and select a programme with a cut-off mark lower than their aggregate score. After completing the change on JAMB, candidates must visit the DELSU admission portal to update their programme choice.

Candidates should note that evidence of the JAMB change of course must be uploaded on the university portal. The selected programme must have a cut-off mark below the candidate’s aggregate score, and candidates must also ensure that their UTME subjects, O’Level results and admission requirements align with the new programme. UNILORIN 41st Convocation Ceremony Dates and Instructions for Graduands

The University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) has announced the programme of activities for its 41st Convocation Ceremonies, scheduled for 16–25 October 2026 on the university’s Main Campus in Ilorin. The ceremonies will include the conferment of First and Higher Degrees, Diplomas and Certificates, as well as the presentation of prizes to deserving graduands.

Activities will begin on Friday, 16 October with a Special Juma’at Service at the Central Mosque at 1:30 p.m., followed by an Interdenominational Service on Sunday, 18 October. Other activities include the Vice-Chancellor’s Press Briefing and Media Chat on 19 October and the convocation play, The Death of the King’s Horseman, on 20 October. Convocation ceremonies will hold from 21–23 October, with graduands from different faculties assigned to specific days. The convocation lecture on 23 October will be delivered by Hon. Dr Haja Ramatulai Wurie, Minister of Technical and Higher Education, Sierra Leone.

UNILORIN has also outlined payments and other requirements for graduands. Undergraduate, Master’s and other postgraduate graduands are required to pay ₦20,000 for a student’s copy of transcript and certificate, while PhD graduands are required to pay ₦10,000 for the certificate. Diploma graduands are required to pay ₦20,000 for their certificate and student’s copy of transcript, with other applicable charges covering items such as academic gown hire and convocation materials.

Graduands can collect their Order of Proceedings and academic gowns from 19 October 2026 upon presentation of evidence of payment. Those attending the ceremony are required to participate in the Academic Procession and wear the approved academic outfit. Hired gowns must be returned by 26 October 2026, after which a ₦5,000 daily fine applies. Payments are to be made through the UNILORIN Convocation Portal using MasterCard or Visa ATM cards. PhD graduands must purchase the university’s academic gown, while all graduands are also required to complete the UNILORIN Alumni Association Google Form and retain evidence of submission. The university advised graduands to check its official website for the list of graduands and their graduation status.

The University of Ibadan (UI) has released its admission list for the 2026/2027 academic session. Candidates who participated in the university’s admission screening exercise can now check their provisional admission status through the JAMB Central Admission Processing System (CAPS).

Candidates can check their admission status by visiting the JAMB e-Facility portal at https://efacility.jamb.gov.ng/ and logging in with their registered email address and password. After accessing the dashboard, applicants should click on “Check Admission Status”, select “Access my CAPS”, and proceed to the “Admission Status” section to view their admission decision.

UI Students Union Week 2026 Gets Two Lecture-Free Days

The University of Ibadan (UI) Students’ Union has announced that Thursday, 17 September and Friday, 18 September 2026 have been approved as lecture-free days to support activities marking the 2026 Students’ Union Week.

The two days are intended to allow students to participate in major Union Week programmes without conflicts with academic activities. The schedule includes Ojude UI on Thursday, 17 September at the Old Stadium, SUB.

On Friday, 18 September, students are expected to participate in the Vice-Chancellor’s Marathon and Inter-House Sports Exhibition, also organised as part of the Union Week programme.

The Students’ Union encouraged students to use the lecture-free days to participate actively, responsibly and peacefully in the scheduled activities while contributing to the success of the 2026 Union Week celebrations.

AKSU Reschedules Exams Earlier Scheduled for September 23, 2026

The Students’ Union Government (SUG) of Akwa Ibom State University (AKSU) has announced the rescheduling of examinations that were initially scheduled for Wednesday, September 23, 2026. The adjustment affects students who were expected to sit for examinations on the affected date.

According to a statement released by the AKSU Students’ Union Government, the change was made following the declaration of September 23, 2026, as a public holiday in Akwa Ibom State to mark Akwa Ibom Day. The rescheduled examinations will now hold on Friday, October 16, 2026.

Affected students have been advised to take note of the new examination date and make the necessary preparations. The university community is encouraged to follow further updates from the Students’ Union Government and relevant university authorities regarding the examination schedule.

AKSU Bans Sign-Out Activities and Rowdy Celebrations After Exams

Akwa Ibom State University (AKSU) has banned sign-out activities and other forms of rowdy celebrations by students after the completion of examinations. The directive was issued by the university’s Directorate of Students’ Affairs in a notice dated 18 September 2026 and addressed to the student community.

According to the notice, activities such as loud music, bonfires, car convoys, vandalism, cult-related displays, rough driving and other disruptive engagements within the campus are prohibited. The university stated that the decision was taken to protect students and staff, prevent injuries and maintain peace and discipline within the university environment.

However, AKSU noted that moderate celebrations such as group photographs and sign-on endorsements may be allowed, provided they are conducted responsibly and without disrupting campus activities. Students, departments, associations or groups involved in prohibited activities may face disciplinary action.

The university has directed campus security and relevant security agencies to enforce the policy and take action against violators where necessary. Heads of departments have also been advised to guide students on the directive. The notice was signed by Dr. Stephen Umoh, Deputy Dean, Students’ Affairs, AKSU, on behalf of the Dean.
