The University of Uyo (UNIUYO) is a federal university located in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. The university was originally established in 1983 as the University of Cross River State (UNICROSS). In 1991, it was taken over by the Federal Government of Nigeria and renamed the University of Uyo.

Since becoming a federal institution, UNIUYO has expanded significantly in terms of academic programmes, infrastructure, and student population. The university offers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes across disciplines such as sciences, engineering, social sciences, arts, management sciences, education, and health sciences.

Undergraduate Admission

UNIUYO Admission List for 2026/2027 Academic Session Released

The University of Uyo (UNIUYO) has released its admission list for the 2026/2027 academic session. Candidates who participated in the university’s 2026/2027 admission screening exercise can now check their admission status to find out whether they have been offered provisional admission.

The list of successful candidates has been uploaded through JAMB CAPS, allowing applicants to check their status using the JAMB e-Facility portal. Candidates should visit JAMB e-Facility and log in with their registered email address and password. They should then select “Check Admission Status,” click “Access my CAPS”, and open “Admission Status” to view the outcome.

Candidates who have been offered admission should proceed to accept or reject the offer on JAMB CAPS. According to the notice, candidates can also send ACCEPT or REJECT to 55019 or 66019 using the phone number registered with their JAMB profile. Candidates who see “Admission Still in Progress” or “Not Admitted” are advised to continue checking their JAMB CAPS, as their status may be updated as the admission process progresses.

School Fees

The last known school fees for undergraduate students vary depending on programme:

  • Standard programmes: approximately ₦113,600 per session

UNIUYO GST Exam Registration Deadline September 19 2026

The University of Uyo (UNIUYO) has announced the deadline for registration for the 2025/2026 Second Semester General Studies (GST) examinations. The registration portal will close on Saturday, 19 September 2026, at 12:00 midnight, following approval by the Vice-Chancellor.

The examinations cover GST 121, GST 221 and GST 321 and are scheduled to begin on Monday, 21 September 2026, at 8:00 a.m. daily. The examination period will run until Monday, 28 September 2026.

Students who intend to sit for the examinations are advised to complete their registration before the portal closes. The university has urged students not to wait until the deadline before completing the process.

Registered students are also required to attend the examination centre with a printed copy of their examination slip. Students should ensure that their registration is completed before the 19 September deadline to avoid missing the examination.

Notice to final Year Students on NELFUND Loan

The University of Uyo (UNIUYO) has announced an important meeting for final-year students who are yet to receive their NELFUND school fees refund from the university. The meeting is intended to address the delay in the payment and provide affected students with relevant information about the refund process.

According to the notice, the meeting will hold on Monday, 14 September 2026, at 12:00 PM at Barth Ebong, Annex Campus. Only final-year students affected by the outstanding NELFUND school fees refund are specifically required to attend.

The university’s Students Union has advised all affected students to make themselves available for the meeting. Students are encouraged to attend promptly so they can receive updates and seek clarification concerning their outstanding refunds.
