Admission Requirements

Undergraduate Admission

• Candidates must sit for the UTME conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

• Applicants must obtain at least five O’Level credits, including English Language and Mathematics, in relevant subjects.

• Candidates must select the University of Ilorin as their preferred institution during UTME registration.

• Applicants must participate in the UNILORIN Post-UTME screening exercise conducted by the university.

Direct Entry Admission

UNILORIN Merit Admission List 2026/2027

The University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) has released its admission list for the 2026/2027 academic session. Candidates who participated in the university’s admission screening exercise can now check their admission status through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS).

To check your status, visit the JAMB eFacility portal and log in with your registered email address and password. Select Check Admission Status, click Access my CAPS, and then choose Admission Status to see whether you have been offered admission. If your status shows that no admission has been given yet, check again later for updates.

Candidates who receive admission offers should accept or reject them by sending ACCEPT or REJECT via SMS to 55019 or 66019, using the phone number linked to their JAMB profile. Candidates have four weeks to respond to their offers, according to the admission notice. Those who no longer have access to their registered phone numbers should visit a JAMB-accredited centre for assistance.

After accepting an admission offer, candidates should print their JAMB admission letters, as these may be required during the university’s clearance and registration process. Candidates checking CAPS on a mobile phone may need to open Google Chrome, select the browser menu and enable Request desktop site to view all the available options. The University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) has released the proposed academic calendar for undergraduate students for the 2026/2027 academic session. The calendar outlines important dates for registration, lectures, examinations, matriculation, and other academic activities for both fresh and returning students.

According to the academic calendar published in the University of Ilorin Bulletin on Monday, September 21, 2026, the 2026/2027 academic session will officially begin on Monday, October 5, 2026. Registration for new and returning undergraduate students will take place from October 5 to October 16, 2026, while late registration is scheduled for October 19 to October 23, 2026.

UNILORIN Announces 10th Pharmaceutical Sciences Induction Ceremony for October 29

The Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Ilorin (UNILORIN), in collaboration with the Pharmacy Council of Nigeria (PCN), has announced its 10th induction and oath-taking ceremony for the 2025/2026 graduating class. The event will also mark the faculty’s inaugural induction ceremony for Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D) graduates.

The ceremony is scheduled for Thursday, October 29, 2026, at the University Auditorium, University of Ilorin, Ilorin, Kwara State. Proceedings will begin at 10:00 a.m., and guests are expected to be seated by 9:45 a.m. The theme is “Beyond the Oath: Integrity, Innovation, and Leadership in Pharm.D Practice.”

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, will serve as Chief Host, while Professor Abdulganiyu Giwa, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, will host the event. Other invited dignitaries include Pharm. Ibrahim Babashehu Ahmed, Registrar of the PCN; Dr Amina Ahmed El-Imam, Kwara State Commissioner for Health; Dr Abdulraheem Malik, Executive Secretary of the Kwara State Hospitals Management Board; and Pharm.
