Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAAU), formerly known as Kogi State University (KSU), Anyigba, is a state-owned university located in Anyigba, Kogi State, Nigeria. The institution is one of the leading public universities in North-Central Nigeria and is widely recognized for quality teaching, research development, and broad academic programmes in sciences, arts, education, law, management sciences, agriculture, medicine, and social sciences.

The university was originally established in 1999 by the Kogi State Government as Kogi State University. In 2021, it was officially renamed Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAAU) in honour of late Prince Abubakar Audu, former Governor of Kogi State and a key figure in the creation of the university.

Today, PAAU remains one of Nigeria’s respected state universities with thousands of students from across the country.

History of the Institution

Prince Abubakar Audu University began as Kogi State University, Anyigba in 1999. It was created to provide accessible higher education opportunities to the people of Kogi State and surrounding regions.

The university quickly developed into a multi-faculty institution, expanding infrastructure, academic staff, student enrollment, and research capacity. It became especially known for Law, Management Sciences, Social Sciences, Education, and Agricultural programmes.

Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAAU), Anyigba, has commenced the release of the first semester examination timetable for the 2025/2026 academic session. Students who have been awaiting confirmation of dates can now make adequate preparations, as the university confirmed that examinations will hold daily across approved venues.

According to the released schedule, the first semester examinations will:

  • Start on Monday, 2 February 2026

  • End on Thursday, 12 February 2026
