Akwa Ibom State University popularly known as AKSU  is a state-owned university located in Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria, with major campuses at Ikot Akpaden (Mkpat Enin LGA) and Obio Akpa (Oruk Anam LGA). Established in 2009, the university was created by the Akwa Ibom State Government to expand access to quality higher education and drive research, innovation, and manpower development.

History of the Institution

Akwa Ibom State University was established in 2009 by the Akwa Ibom State Government as a strategic institution to provide world-class education and produce graduates equipped for leadership and entrepreneurship.

Apply: AKSU Nursing and Health Sciences Programmes Admission 2025/2026

Akwa Ibom State University (AKSU) has opened online applications and screening for admission into Nursing, Medical, Health Sciences, and related programmes for the 2025/2026 academic session.

The university confirmed that approval has been granted by the National Universities Commission (NUC) for AKSU to run full-time Bachelor’s degree programmes under the Faculty of Health Sciences, starting from the 2025/2026 session. EducationNGR also learnt that the approval covers all listed programmes for the new intake.
