Delta State University (DELSU) is a state-owned university located in Abraka, Delta State, Nigeria. Established in 1992, the university is one of the leading public universities in South-South Nigeria and is widely recognized for academic excellence, research development, professional training, and a strong alumni network. DELSU offers undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, JUPEB, distance learning, and professional programmes across multiple campuses. History of the Institution

Delta State University was established in 1992 by the Delta State Government to increase access to higher education and manpower development within the state and Nigeria at large. The university started with campuses in Abraka, Anwai (Asaba), and Oleh. Over time, DELSU expanded into a multi-campus institution with strong faculties in sciences, law, medicine, management, education, engineering-related disciplines, agriculture, and arts.

Today, DELSU is one of Nigeria’s most respected state universities and has produced graduates in politics, media, medicine, academia, business, and entertainment.
