Federal Polytechnic, Monguno commonly known as FEDPOLY MONGUNO is a Federal Government-owned polytechnic located in Monguno, Borno State, Nigeria. Established in 2021, it is the first federal polytechnic in Borno State, created to expand access to technical and vocational education in the North-East region.
The Polytechnic offers National Diploma (ND) and emerging Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes across engineering, science, environmental, and management disciplines, with a strong focus on practical skills and manpower development.
History of the Institution
Federal Polytechnic, Monguno was established on 5th January 2021 by the Federal Government of Nigeria to address the lack of federal tertiary institutions in Borno State and improve access to technical education in the region.
The institution commenced with pioneer academic programmes across multiple schools, including business, science, and technology-related fields.
In 2024, the Polytechnic conducted its first matriculation ceremony, admitting about 389 pioneer students, marking a significant milestone in its development.
The Polytechnic is still in its growth and expansion phase, with ongoing development of infrastructure, hostels, and academic facilities.
