Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology — popularly known as OAUSTECH and formerly OSUSTECH — is a public state university located in Okitipupa, Ondo State, Nigeria. Established by the Ondo State Government in 2008, the institution was initially named Ondo State University of Science and Technology (OSUSTECH) before being renamed in 2019 in honour of the late Dr. Olusegun Agagu. The university is technology-driven and focuses on producing skilled graduates in science, engineering, management, health, agriculture, and innovation. OAUSTECH is recognised by the National Universities Commission (NUC) and continues to expand rapidly.
History of the Institution
The university was established in 2008 by the Ondo State Government as Ondo State University of Science and Technology (OSUSTECH) to increase access to science and technology education in Ondo State and Nigeria.
Academic development gradually expanded, and the university introduced programmes in Sciences, Engineering, Agriculture, Earth Sciences, Management Sciences, and Postgraduate Studies.
In 2019, the institution was officially renamed Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology (OAUSTECH) in memory of former Ondo State Governor, Dr. Olusegun Agagu. Since then, the university has continued to develop infrastructure, academic programmes, research centres, and partnerships.
