Niger State College of Nursing Sciences Bida Admission List is Out 2026/2027

The Niger State College of Nursing Sciences, Bida has released its admission list for the 2026/2027 academic session. Candidates who participated in the admission screening exercise can now check whether they have been offered provisional admission.

Ambrose Alli University (AAU) popularly known as AAU Ekpoma  is a state-owned university located in Ekpoma, Esan West Local Government Area, Edo State, Nigeria. Established in 1981 by the first Executive Governor of Bendel State, Professor Ambrose Folorunsho Alli, the university has grown into one of the most significant institutions of higher learning in South-South Nigeria. AAU offers undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, and certificate programmes across thirteen faculties and a College of Medicine, with more than 50 departments. Fully accredited and recognized by the National Universities Commission (NUC), AAU operates its student portal and academic management system through the KOFA platform at aaue.waeup.org. The current Vice-Chancellor is Professor Eunice Eboiserehimen Omonzejie, who assumed office in September 2025.

History of the Institution

The story of Ambrose Alli University is deeply tied to the vision and determination of Professor Ambrose Folorunsho Alli, the first Executive Governor of the old Bendel State (now Edo and Delta States). At a time when the quota system had made federal university admission increasingly difficult for Bendel State students, and when the University of Benin — originally a state institution — had already been taken over by the Federal Government, Governor Alli took the bold step of establishing a new state university to meet the educational aspirations of the rapidly growing population of qualified students in his state.

The university was established in 1981 as Bendel State University, Ekpoma. Following the creation of Edo State in 1991, the institution was renamed Edo State University, Ekpoma. In 1999, the Edo State House of Assembly passed an Act signed into law by Governor Lucky Nosakhare Igbinedion, formally renaming the institution Professor Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, in honour of its visionary founder.

Over four decades, the university has transformed from a modest institution into a comprehensive research and teaching university, housing thirteen faculties, a College of Medicine, over 50 academic departments, several research centres and institutes, and a fully functional e-learning system. A notable milestone in its digital transformation was the deployment of the KOFA web application platform for student administration, pioneered during the tenure of former Vice-Chancellor Professor Ignatius A. Onimawo. In 2025, the foundation stone was laid for a new College of Medicine building, funded by the Edo State Government.

AAU Bridge Programme Admission Form 2026/2027

Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma, has invited applications from suitably qualified candidates for admission into its 2026/2027 Bridge Programme. The programme is designed for Higher National Diploma (HND) holders with a minimum of Lower Credit who wish to obtain a bachelor’s degree, as well as bachelor’s degree holders with Third Class who want to improve their degree classification for further academic and career progression.

The programme runs for two academic sessions for conventional four-year degree courses and three academic sessions for conventional five-year degree courses. Available options cover BA, BSc and BEng programmes, including Accounting, Business Administration, Computer Science, Civil Engineering, Economics, Mass Communication, Mechanical Engineering, Microbiology, Political Science, Public Administration, Sociology, Theatre and Media Arts, and other listed disciplines.

Applicants must hold an HND with at least Lower Credit from a recognised polytechnic or a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of Third Class. They must also possess at least five relevant O’Level credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics, in no more than two sittings. Evidence of NYSC completion or a valid exemption or exclusion certificate is also required.

AAU Academic Calendar 2026/2027

Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma, has approved its academic calendar for the 2026/2027 academic session. The calendar was approved by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor (Mrs) Eunice Omonzejie, on behalf of the university’s Senate, and outlines the major dates for resumption, registration, lectures, examinations and consideration of results.

For the first semester, new students are expected to arrive on Sunday, 1 November 2026, while clearance and course registration for fresh students will continue from Monday, 2 November. Returning students are expected on Sunday, 15 November, with lectures and course registration for all students beginning on Monday, 16 November. Matriculation is scheduled for Monday, 30 November, while the Christmas break will run from Wednesday, 23 December 2026, to Sunday, 3 January 2027.

AAU ASUU 2026 Indigent Scholarship Award

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma Chapter, has invited eligible indigent undergraduate students to apply for its 2026 Annual Scholarship Award. Each successful beneficiary will receive ₦200,000, with selection based on demonstrated financial need and academic performance. Applicants must be bona fide undergraduate students of AAU Ekpoma, verified as indigent, and have a minimum CGPA of 3.00.

Applicants must submit a handwritten application letter of not more than two pages, addressed to the Convener, ASUU Indigent Scholarship Committee 2026, ASUU Secretariat, Twin Lecture Theatre, AAU Ekpoma. The letter should include the applicant’s full name, course, current level, state of origin and functional phone number. It must be accompanied by a photocopy of the current student ID card, an official letter from the Head of Department confirming academic status and CGPA, evidence of course registration for the 2025/2026 academic session, a printed Kofa Student Account statement showing the current CGPA and endorsed by the HOD, and two recent passport photographs.

Completed applications must be submitted to the ASUU Secretariat, AAU Ekpoma, no later than 2:00 p.m. on Monday, 21 September 2026. Only shortlisted applicants will proceed to screening and interview, where their academic records and financial circumstances will be assessed by the ASUU AAU Ekpoma Scholarship Committee. Applicants should ensure that their application letter and all supporting documents are complete before submission.

AAU Warns Students Against Fake KOFA Upgrade Payment Bulletin

Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma, has warned students and members of the public about a fake bulletin circulating on social media and other platforms. The bulletin reportedly directs students to pay ₦35,100 for an alleged KOFA upgrade.

The university Management stated that the bulletin is fake and did not originate from the institution. It clarified that no directive has been issued authorising students to make the payment or requesting the stated amount for a KOFA upgrade.

Management also pointed out that the Zenith Bank account named IRIABHOLO JULIET, which appears on the fake bulletin, is a personal account and has no connection with the university. The institution reiterated that official payments should never be made into private or personal bank accounts.

Students and the general public have been advised to disregard the fake bulletin and avoid making any payment in connection with the purported KOFA upgrade. The university also urged students to verify payment-related information through official AAU communication channels before taking action.

The University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) was taken over by the Federal Government on April 1st, 1975, as the fifth teaching hospital in Nigeria, coming after Ibadan Teaching Hospital and Lagos Teaching Hospital . EBSU Introduces 7 New Health Science Programmes for 2026/2027 Admission

Ebonyi State University (EBSU), Abakaliki, has received approval from the National Universities Commission (NUC) to introduce seven new Health Science programmes for the 2026/2027 academic session. The new programmes will expand the university’s health-related academic offerings and provide more opportunities for students interested in healthcare careers.

The newly approved programmes include Doctor of Physiotherapy, Doctor of Optometry, Bachelor of Radiography and Radiation Science, Bachelor of Health Information Management, Bachelor of Community Health Science, Bachelor of Environmental Health Science, and B.Sc. Public Health.

Federal University of Environment and Technology Tai – FUET

The Federal University of Environment and Technology (FUET), Tai Town, Ogoniland, Rivers State, is one of Nigeria’s newest federal universities established to promote education and research in environmental science, sustainability, and technological innovation.

The university was officially established on 3 February 2025, when the President of Nigeria signed the bill creating the institution into law. The creation of FUET was part of the Federal Government’s efforts to address environmental challenges and expand access to higher education, particularly in the Niger Delta region.

The establishment of the university followed recommendations from the Ogoni Dialogue Committee, which proposed the institution as part of confidence-building measures between the Federal Government and the Ogoni people.

FUET has two campuses located at Koroma and Saakpenwa in Tai Local Government Area of Rivers State. FUET Physical Clearance Exercise 2026/2027

The Federal University of Environment and Technology (FUET) has announced the commencement of its physical clearance exercise for all newly admitted students for the 2026/2027 academic session. The exercise will begin on Monday, 12 October 2026, at the Kenule Saro-Wiwa Auditorium, Saakpenwa Campus.

The clearance exercise will be conducted according to faculty, with each faculty assigned a specific day from Monday to Friday. Students are required to attend on their assigned date between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

Candidates who participated in the university’s screening exercise can now check their admission status through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Central Admission Processing System (CAPS). At present, JAMB CAPS is the stated route for candidates to confirm their admission position.

Candidates can check their status by visiting the JAMB eFacility portal, logging in with their JAMB username and password, and selecting “Check Admission Status.” They should then open “Access my CAPS” and select “Admission Status” to view the FUOYE admission position. Candidates who need additional assistance with the process can also consult the JAMB CAPS admission guide for the relevant steps.

The status displayed on JAMB CAPS can vary depending on the stage of the admission process. “Admission Offered” indicates that JAMB has approved the offer, while “Admission in Progress” or “AIP” and “Recommended” indicate that the admission is still going through the necessary review and approval stages. Candidates whose status shows “Pending” should continue checking for an update, while “Not Admitted” does not necessarily mean that all admission processing has ended, particularly where additional lists or reviews may still be pending.

FUOYE Acceptance Fee Payment and Resumption Date for Freshers 2026/2027

Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) has announced the commencement of acceptance fee payment and resumption guidelines for newly admitted students for the 2026/2027 academic session. The university congratulated freshers on their provisional admission and advised them to complete the required processes to secure their admission.

According to the notice released by the university management, newly admitted students are required to log in to their student portal and pay the acceptance fee together with other prescribed charges. The admission remains provisional until students complete the required payments and clearance process.

FUOYE warned that failure to complete the financial obligations and other admission requirements within the stipulated period will be treated as a decline of the admission offer, and the available admission space may be forfeited.

Fresh students are expected to resume on campus on Monday, 21 September 2026 and come prepared for the clearance process. The notice was signed by Professor Temitope Babalola, Dean, Student Affairs and Support Services, on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor and the university management.

FUOYE Announces September 21, 2026 Resumption Date for New 100-Level Students

Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) has announced Monday, 21 September 2026 as the resumption date for newly admitted 100-Level students for the 2026/2027 academic session. The date specifically applies to students who have recently secured admission into the university at 100 Level as they prepare to commence academic activities for the new session.

The university community and members of the public have been informed of the resumption arrangement by FUOYE Management. Newly admitted students are therefore expected to take note of 21 September 2026 and make the necessary preparations to resume on the announced date.

The resumption date does not currently apply to other categories of FUOYE students. The university has not yet announced a separate resumption date for returning students or other students who are not part of the newly admitted 100-Level group. Federal University Wukari Pre-Degree and Remedial Form 2026/2027 is Out

The School of Basic and Remedial Studies (SBRS), Federal University Wukari, has opened applications for admission into its Pre-Degree and Remedial Programmes for the 2026/2027 academic session. The programmes are designed to prepare candidates seeking admission into regular undergraduate degree programmes through intensive coaching in relevant Science and Arts subjects.

UNIOSUN Wins 16 Medals at WAUG 2026

Osun State University (UNIOSUN) has won 16 medals at the 15th West African Universities Games (WAUG), hosted by Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife. The university secured six silver and 10 bronze medals across taekwondo, chess, tennis and athletics.

According to a statement by UNIOSUN’s Public Relations Officer, Ademola Adesoji, taekwondo accounted for 11 medals, comprising four silver and seven bronze. The university also won one silver and one bronze medal in chess, while tennis contributed one bronze medal.

In athletics, UNIOSUN secured one silver medal in javelin and one bronze medal in triple jump, bringing its overall tally to 16 medals. The performance reflected the participation of the university’s student-athletes across the different sporting events.

The Acting Director of Sports, Dr Teslim Kolawole, attributed the achievement to the university’s support for student-athletes and its efforts to develop sporting talent. Vice-Chancellor Professor Odunayo Clement Adebooye congratulated the athletes and sports team, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to promoting sports and student development.

UNIOSUN Releases Guidelines for 16th Convocation Academic Gown and Conduct

Osun State University (UNIOSUN) has issued guidelines for graduands participating in its 16th Convocation Ceremonies, reminding them to maintain proper dressing, punctuality and decorum throughout the event.

The university advised all graduands to arrive at the Olagunsoye Oyinlola Auditorium at least one hour before the scheduled commencement time to allow for seating arrangements, academic procession and other preparations.

UNIOSUN also outlined requirements for the proper wearing of academic gowns. Graduands are expected to position their tassels correctly on the right side of the cap before conferment of their degrees and move them to the left after the degree is awarded. Female graduands were advised to maintain simple hairstyles that allow the academic cap to fit properly, while all graduands must ensure their academic hoods are correctly worn.

The university further urged graduands to maintain discipline and avoid unnecessary movement during the ceremonies, noting that convocation is a formal academic occasion that requires proper conduct. The guidelines were issued by Mrs Atinuke A. Oguntunde, Registrar, UNIOSUN.

Olabisi Onabanjo University  popularly known as OOU  is a public state university located in Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State, Nigeria. History of the Institution

Olabisi Onabanjo University was originally established on 7th July 1982 as Ogun State University (OSU) by the Ogun State Government. It was founded to expand access to higher education for the growing population of Ogun State and neighbouring regions.

The university initially operated as a multi-campus institution with campuses spread across different towns in Ogun State. In 2001, the institution was renamed Olabisi Onabanjo University in honour of Chief Olabisi Onabanjo, the civilian governor of Ogun State who played a major role in its establishment.

OOU JUPEB Foundation School Admission Form 2026/2027

Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), Ago-Iwoye, has opened applications for admission into its Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB) Foundation School for the 2026/2027 academic session.
