The University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) Open Distance and e-Learning (ODeL) Centre has commenced admission into its undergraduate and postgraduate programmes for the 2026/2027 academic session.

The programme allows prospective students to earn University of Port Harcourt qualifications through flexible online and distance learning, making it possible for learners to study without being physically present on campus throughout the academic session.

Available programmes include:

• B.Sc Accounting – 8 Semesters
• Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) – 2 Semesters
• Postgraduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) – 2 Semesters

UNIPORT Adjusts Second Semester Exam Schedule for 2025/2026 Session

The University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) has announced adjustments to the second semester examination timetable for the 2025/2026 academic session following disruptions caused by the recent Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) strike.

According to a memorandum issued by the University Registrar on September 21, 2026, examinations scheduled from Tuesday, September 22, to Friday, September 25, 2026, will continue as originally planned. However, examinations that could not hold on September 17, 18, and 21, 2026 have been rescheduled to September 28, 29, and 30, 2026, respectively, while maintaining the same examination times and venues.

The university also announced that ECO 102.2 has been moved to Saturday, September 26, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. In addition, examinations initially scheduled for Wednesday, September 16, 2026, will now hold on the same date, time, and venue arrangements as other affected papers on Saturday, September 26, 2026.

Students are advised to take note of the revised examination schedule and make the necessary preparations to participate in the affected examinations.

UNIPORT SUG Suspends Ongoing Examinations Until Further Notice

The Students’ Union Government (SUG) of the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) has announced the suspension and postponement of ongoing examinations until further notice. The decision follows a developing situation affecting academic activities at the university.

The latest announcement follows an earlier SUG update issued on 16 September 2026, which referred to reports of an ongoing strike and efforts to address the situation. The union also confirmed reports that some students had been asked to leave their examination halls and urged students to remain calm while awaiting further information.

With the latest circular, students have been formally informed that the examinations are suspended. They are advised to remain calm and await official communication on when the examinations will resume and the next steps to be taken.

Students have also been urged not to rely on or circulate unverified information about the situation. The SUG said it will continue to monitor developments and communicate confirmed updates to students as they become available.
