FUTMINNA Announces 34th Convocation and 43rd Founders’ Day Ceremony

The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Minna (FUTMINNA), Prof. Faruk Adamu Kuta, on behalf of the University Council, Senate, staff, and students, has officially invited the public to the 34th Convocation Ceremony and the 43rd Founders’ Day celebrations. The events will include the conferment of degrees, diplomas, postgraduate qualifications, and the presentation of academic prizes.

EducationNGR also learnt that all graduands are expected to strictly comply with the stated requirements to participate fully.

Key Information for Graduands

Payments:
All payments must be made into the FUTMINNA TSA Account (No. 0190472161017) at the Central Bank of Nigeria. Further details are available on the official university website.

Physical Presence:
Graduands must be physically present to receive certificates and prizes; proxies are not allowed.

Documents for Certificate Collection:

  • Original statement of results issued by the University (if applicable)

  • Final year clearance form signed by all relevant authorities

  • Final year identity card or letter of identification from the Student Affairs Division

Invitation Cards and Academic Gowns:

  • Collect from the School Secretaries starting Monday, 26 January 2026

  • Gowns must be returned immediately after the ceremony; damaged gowns incur a surcharge

Security and Access:

  • University Security will direct guests to designated parking areas

  • Luggage and bags are prohibited in the Convocation Square Arena

  • Photographers, hawkers, and vendors pay ₦500 for registration; they are restricted from the Convocation Square

  • Graduands will not be admitted after 10:30 a.m.

Live Streaming:
Events will be live-streamed on the FUTMINNA official website for public viewing.

Graduands and members of the public are advised to adhere strictly to the schedule and guidelines to ensure smooth participation in all convocation activities.

FUTMINNA Pre-Admission Screening for New Courses 2025/2026

The Federal University of Technology, Minna (FUTMINNA) has announced the start of the 2025/2026 Pre-Admission Screening (UPASE) for its newly approved Medical and Health programmes.

The screening exercise begins on Saturday, 18 October 2025, and closes at midnight on Thursday, 21 October 2025.

 

Programmes and Cut-off Marks

Candidates applying for the following programmes must meet the stated cut-off marks:

  • Medicine and Surgery: 250
  • Nursing Science: 230
  • Medical Laboratory Science: 230
  • Human Anatomy: 170
  • Human Physiology: 170
  • Doctor of Pharmacy: 230

Eligibility

Only candidates who sat for the 2025 UTME, selected FUTMINNA as their first choice, and achieved the required cut-off marks are eligible to apply for the screening.

Applicants should complete their registration on the FUTMINNA UPASE Application Portal.

Students are encouraged to apply early before the deadline to avoid last-minute issues with the portal.

Federal University of Technology Minna has published its first batch merit admission list for the 2025–2026 session. Applicants are advised to check their status through the JAMB CAPS portal and follow the given instructions. Kindly read further for details and meaning of the responses shown.

The Federal University of Technology, Minna, often called FUTMINNA, has released its admission list for the 2025–2026 academic year. For many, this is the long-awaited news after months of exams, forms, and restless nights. Now the door is open to see who has been offered a place.

How to Check FUTMINNA Admission List

Checking admission is no longer a matter of notice boards and waiting in the sun. The process is fully online through the JAMB CAPS portal.

  • Visit the JAMB EFacility portal
  • Log in using your JAMB username and password
  • Scroll to find and click Check Admission Status
  • Select Access my CAPS
  • Tap on Admission Status to view your result

If you are using a phone and all you see is a welcome message, don’t panic. Just change your browser to desktop mode. On Chrome, open settings and choose “Request desktop site.” That usually solves it.

What the Responses Mean on JAMB CAPS

The portal gives back different replies, each carrying its own meaning.

  • Admission Offered: Congratulations, you made it. Accept or reject the offer right away on the portal.
  • Admission in Progress (AIP): Your file is moving along. The school has pushed your name forward, and JAMB is giving it the final look.
  • Recommended: The university has put you forward, though JAMB is still checking all boxes.
  • Not Admitted: Your name is not on the list yet. It may be that FUTMINNA has not released all names or your case is still under review.
  • Pending: Still waiting. The process is not done.

What to Do After Admission

If you see “Admission Offered,” there are clear next steps.

  • Send ACCEPT or REJECT by text to 55019 or 66019 using the phone number tied to your JAMB profile.
  • After accepting, print your JAMB admission letter. Keep it safe, as you will need it later.
