Federal Polytechnic, Kaltungo popularly known as FEDPOLY KALTUNGO is a Federal Government-owned polytechnic located in Kaltungo, Gombe State, Nigeria. Established in 2019, it is one of the newly created federal polytechnics aimed at expanding access to technical and vocational education in Nigeria.
The institution offers National Diploma (ND) programmes across science, engineering, and management disciplines, with plans for expansion into HND programmes as it develops. It operates under the supervision of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) and focuses on practical, skill-based learning.
History of the Institution
Federal Polytechnic, Kaltungo was established through the Federal Polytechnic Establishment Act of 2019 as part of a national effort to increase access to technical education.
Academic activities commenced at a temporary take-off site in Kaltungo, while land has already been allocated for a permanent campus. The host community provided about 100 hectares of land, exceeding the government’s initial requirement.
Since its inception, the polytechnic has been developing its infrastructure with support from TETFund and federal allocations, gradually expanding its academic programmes and facilities.
