Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna – NDA

The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), Kaduna, was established in 1964 following the independence of Nigeria. It evolved from the Royal Military Forces Training College (RMFTC), which was originally set up in 1955 during the colonial era.

The academy was created to train officers for the Nigerian Armed Forces, including the Army, Navy, and Air Force. Over time, NDA expanded its mandate to include full academic degree programmes alongside military training.

Today, NDA is Nigeria’s premier military university, combining rigorous academic education with military discipline and leadership training. Cadets graduate with a Bachelor’s degree and are commissioned as officers into the Armed Forces of Nigeria.

Admission Requirements

Undergraduate Admission

Candidates must sit for UTME conducted by JAMB.
Applicants must have at least five O’Level credits including English Language and Mathematics.
Candidates must select NDA as first choice institution.
Applicants must meet the required cut-off mark.
Candidates must participate in the NDA screening test.
Successful candidates must attend the Armed Forces Selection Board (AFSB) interview.
Applicants must meet physical and medical fitness requirements.
