On July 2nd, 2020, Nile University of Nigeria was acquired by Honoris United Universities. History of the Institution

The founding story of Nile University of Nigeria is rooted in the educational vision of the Nigerian Turkish International College (NTIC) system. The institution began as Nigerian Turkish International College before evolving into Nigerian Turkish Nile University (NTNU) in 2009. In 2018, the university adopted its current name, Nile University of Nigeria.

A significant milestone in the university’s history occurred on July 2nd, 2020, when Nile University of Nigeria was acquired by Honoris United Universities, the first and largest pan-African private education network. Honoris United Universities is backed by Actis Capital, a global investment firm. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Admission Requirements

UTME (Undergraduate) Admission

  • A minimum of five (5) O’Level credit passes including English Language and Mathematics, obtained in not more than two sittings in WAEC, NECO, GCE O’Level, or NABTEB

  • A valid JAMB UTME score meeting Nile University’s minimum cut-off mark is required

  • Candidates must be at least 16 years of age at the time of admission

Direct Entry Admission

Candidates with relevant A’Level passes, ND (Upper Credit), HND, or NCE qualifications may apply for Direct Entry into 200 Level. Relevant O’Level credit requirements apply in addition.

Nile University to Hold 17th Matriculation Ceremony on 26 January 2026

Nile University of Nigeria has announced plans to hold its 17th Matriculation Ceremony for newly admitted students on Monday, 26 January 2026.

According to the official notice, the matriculation will take place at the Convocation Ground, Nile University of Nigeria, and will be conducted in two separate sessions. Newly admitted students are expected to attend the session assigned to their respective college or faculty, as attendance will be organised strictly by slot.

EducationNGR also learnt that students are advised to arrive early and confirm their session details ahead of time to avoid confusion on the day of the event.
