FUTIA Supplementary Admission Form for 2026/2027 Academic Session

The Federal University of Technology, Ikot Abasi (FUTIA), Akwa Ibom State, has opened applications for supplementary admission into its undergraduate programmes for the 2026/2027 academic session. The university is inviting suitably qualified candidates to apply for available programmes across its schools.

Eligible candidates must have selected FUTIA as their first-choice institution in the 2026 UTME and scored at least 160. Available programmes include Agriculture, Food Science and Technology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Mathematics/Statistics, Industrial Chemistry, Physics, Architecture, Estate Management, Naval Architecture, Quantity Surveying and Environmental Management Technology. Other options include Biomedical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Material and Metallurgical Engineering, Community Health Science, Environmental Health Science, Health Information Management, Tourism and Hospitality Management, and Transport Management.

Online registration is ongoing through the university’s admission portal. Candidates who need to change their institution or programme choice are advised to do so through JAMB and complete their registration within the stipulated period. The university noted that JAMB’s scheduled closure of the 2026 admission process is 31 October 2026 and warned that candidates who fail to register within the application window will not be considered for admission.

To apply, candidates should visit portal.futia.edu.ng, select “Click here to apply”, then choose “Apply Now” and “Undergraduate”. Applicants must provide valid contact details, complete the payment process using an ATM card and log in with their JAMB registration number and surname as the password to finish registration. Candidates should print their completed registration forms and payment receipts for reference. The notice was signed by the Registrar, Offiongita E. Nkang (Mrs.).

School Fees

FUTIA School Fees Schedule 2026/2027 Academic Session 

The Federal University of Technology, Ikot Abasi (FUTIA), has released its approved schedule of fees and charges for new and returning students for the 2026/2027 academic session. The schedule was issued through the Office of the Bursar and covers the various fees payable by students during the session.

According to the university, the approved charges apply to students in both engineering and non-engineering programmes. The schedule also includes fees for students who require hostel accommodation, with the applicable amounts contained in the official fee breakdown released by the institution.

A major change in the payment arrangement is that students are now required to pay 100% of their approved fees at the point of registration. The previous 70%–30% instalment payment arrangement has been abolished, meaning students will no longer be able to register by paying only part of their fees.

New and returning FUTIA students are advised to obtain and carefully review the full approved fee schedule to know the exact charges applicable to their programmes and accommodation needs. FUTIA Gets NUC Approval for 12 New Degree Programmes 2026/2027

The National Universities Commission (NUC) has approved 12 additional degree programmes for the Federal University of Technology, Ikot Abasi (FUTIA), Akwa Ibom State, for the 2026/2027 academic session. The approval was conveyed in a letter dated 11 September 2026, following a successful resource verification visit. The university announced the development on 14 October 2026.

The newly approved programmes are Biomedical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Materials and Metallurgical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Environmental Management Technology, Biotechnology, Environmental Health Science, Health Information Management, Community Health Science and Estate Management. With the addition of these courses, FUTIA now has 36 NUC-approved degree programmes, four years after admitting its pioneer students in the 2023/2024 academic session.

Candidates who participated in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and wish to study any of the newly approved courses have been advised to visit JAMB CAPS to change their course of choice to the preferred programme at FUTIA. Candidates who scored at least 160 but did not initially select FUTIA as their first choice may also change their institution through the JAMB portal.

Meanwhile, physical screening for newly admitted candidates is ongoing at the university’s Takeoff Campus in Ikot Abasi. The exercise is scheduled for Monday, 12 October, to Friday, 23 October 2026, with activities beginning at 8:00 a.m. daily. Candidates offered admission should accept it on JAMB CAPS, print their JAMB admission letters and attend the screening with the relevant documents. Vice-Chancellor Professor Leo Daniel welcomed the NUC approval, noting that the additional programmes would expand access to higher education and strengthen teaching, research, manpower development and community service.
