Our Saviour Institute of Science, Agriculture and Technology – OSISATECH

OSISATECH Polytechnic and College of Education Enugu  popularly known as OSISATECH  is a privately owned tertiary institution located in Enugu State, Nigeria. The institution operates as both a Polytechnic and a College of Education, offering National Diploma (ND), Higher National Diploma (HND), Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE), part-time, and professional education programmes. OSISATECH was founded by Rev. Fr. Prof. Emmanuel M. P. Edeh, a renowned Catholic priest and educationist who also founded institutions such as Madonna University and Caritas University. The institution was established primarily to provide quality higher education opportunities for disadvantaged and underserved students while promoting moral discipline, entrepreneurship, and technical education.

OSISATECH is accredited by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) and the National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE). Over the years, the institution has expanded its academic structure to include Polytechnic programmes, teacher education, continuing education, and degree-affiliated programmes. The school is widely recognised in South-East Nigeria for affordable tuition, accessible admission processes, and a strong emphasis on discipline and practical education.

History of the Institution

Our Saviour Institute of Science, Agriculture and Technology (OSISATECH) was established in 1989 in Enugu State, Nigeria. The institution was founded by Rev. Fr. Prof. Emmanuel Edeh with the vision of creating a higher institution that would provide educational opportunities to students who might otherwise be excluded from tertiary education opportunities in Nigeria.

Academic activities officially commenced in November 1990 with an initial intake of preliminary students. In 1991, the National Board for Technical Education approved the institution to begin National Diploma programmes. OSISATECH became one of the early privately owned tertiary institutions to benefit from Nigeria’s liberalisation policy for private higher education institutions during the 1990s.

The institution gradually developed into a dual-mandate institution combining Polytechnic and College of Education programmes. Today, OSISATECH runs ND, HND, NCE, part-time, and professional education programmes under several schools and departments. The institution also operates continuing education and affiliated degree programmes in selected education disciplines.

OSISATECH is also known for its mission-oriented educational structure and its emphasis on discipline, technical training, entrepreneurship, and moral values. The institution continues to attract students from Enugu State and neighbouring states across South-East Nigeria.

Lens Polytechnic
Lens Polytechnic, Offa

Lens Polytechnic, Offa  widely known as LENSPOLY  is a privately owned polytechnic located at KM 2, Irra Road, Offa, Kwara State, South-West Nigeria. The polytechnic was established on 20th April 2012 and was founded by Azeez Yisa Bukola and Abdulazeez Isahq — an educationalist and a banker of high repute. Lens Polytechnic is an expansion from Lens School of Management and Technology, incorporated in Nigeria by the same management that owns and runs Lens School of Management, Offa — an innovation enterprise institution. The polytechnic is fully accredited by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) and offers ND and HND programmes across five schools — Engineering Technology, Science, Management and Finance, Art and Information Technology, and Health Sciences. The proprietors were concerned with the situation of Nigerian youth who struggle to get admitted into tertiary institutions but cannot, and with graduates who find it difficult to get employed or start up on their own because they lack entrepreneurship skills. As part of a remedy to all these situations, they established Lens Polytechnic with a strong entrepreneurship focus. The polytechnic operates a multi-campus model with sites along Irra Road and near Hamdalat Avenue, Atari Area, Offa.

History of the Institution

Lens Polytechnic is an expansion from Lens School of Management and Technology. The school was established on 20th April 2012, founded by Azeez Yisa Bukola and Abdulazeez Isahq — an educationalist and a banker of high repute. The school was accredited by the National Board for Technical Education.

The proprietors have always been concerned with education and had always been disturbed with the situation of Nigerian youth who struggle to get admitted into tertiary institutions but cannot. Another concern were those that studied in tertiary institutions and then found it difficult to get employed — they cannot integrate well into the industry or they cannot start up something on their own because they lack entrepreneurship skills. As part of a remedy to all these situations, the proprietors decided to establish Lens Polytechnic.

The objectives of the school are: to enrol qualified students and equip them with world-class skills and knowledge; to train students to be ethically upright and contribute their best to society; and to create studies that are highly practical-based, innovative and dynamic for direct absorption into industries and for self-empowerment.

Since its establishment, Lens Polytechnic has grown steadily and is now recognised as one of the top-tier private polytechnics in Kwara State, attracting students from Offa, Ilorin, and neighbouring states. The polytechnic operates from its main campus along Irra Road and a second site near Hamdalat Avenue, Atari Area, Offa.

Bawo College of Nursing Sciences, Daura – BAWOCONS

Bawo College of Nursing Sciences, Daura popularly known as BAWOCONS  is a private nursing institution located in Daura, Katsina State, Nigeria. The college was established to address the shortage of qualified nurses and midwives in Daura Emirate, Daura Senatorial Zone, and Katsina State as a whole. The institution operates as a private, non-profit educational initiative founded by Dr. Ibrahim Isaka and focuses on training professional nurses and midwives equipped with modern healthcare knowledge, ethical values, and practical clinical skills.

BAWOCONS was officially registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) as a College of Nursing Sciences and began operations in 2024. The institution aims to improve healthcare delivery in Northern Nigeria by producing competent healthcare professionals capable of addressing maternal mortality, nursing shortages, and broader public health challenges.

The college’s motto is “Giving Way to Life.” Its mission is to educate, train, and empower aspiring nurses and midwives with the knowledge, skills, and ethical values required for holistic healthcare delivery.

History of the Institution

The establishment of Bawo College of Nursing Sciences, Daura emerged from the growing healthcare challenges facing Daura Senatorial Zone and the wider Katsina State region. According to the institution, Daura Zone consists of twelve Local Government Areas and has a population running into millions, yet there were fewer than one hundred nurses and midwives serving the area when the institution’s planning began. This shortage contributed to significant healthcare delivery challenges, particularly in maternal and child health services.

To help bridge this gap, Dr. Ibrahim Isaka initiated the establishment of BAWOCONS as a private charitable educational institution focused on producing highly trained nurses and midwives. The college was officially established in February 2024 and became the first College of Nursing Sciences in the Daura Senatorial Zone.

The institution engaged professional advisory board members and healthcare stakeholders to develop academic structures, training systems, and administrative frameworks aimed at delivering quality nursing education. Since its establishment, the college has expanded its programme offerings to include Basic Nursing, Basic Midwifery, and ND/HND Nursing pathways.

BAWOCONS continues to position itself as an institution dedicated to improving healthcare manpower development in Katsina State and Northern Nigeria through nursing and midwifery education.

The Baptist Medical Centre was established by the Nigerian Baptist Convention to provide quality healthcare services and healthcare manpower development in the Oke-Ogun region of Oyo State. Over the years, the hospital evolved from a missionary healthcare facility into a comprehensive medical and educational institution offering healthcare services, residency programmes, nursing education, medical laboratory technology training, and community health programmes.

As healthcare demands increased, the management expanded into formal nursing education to address the shortage of qualified nurses and midwives in Nigeria. The School of Nursing was established to train student nurses through a combination of classroom instruction, laboratory practice, and hospital-based clinical training.

The institution gradually developed into a College of Nursing Sciences with accredited nursing and midwifery programmes. Today, students benefit from direct clinical exposure within Baptist Medical Centre’s departments including surgery, paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology, internal medicine, physiotherapy, radiology, laboratory diagnostics, and community health services.

The college continues to expand its programmes and infrastructure while maintaining its faith-based educational philosophy and commitment to healthcare excellence.
