The University of Uyo (UNIUYO) has officially announced openings for academic and non-teaching positions for the 2025 recruitment exercise. The management invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill various positions across departments and faculties. Academic Staff Positions
Professor
Applicants must possess a PhD or its equivalent in the relevant discipline from a recognised university. Available positions include Nursing Science, Medical Laboratory Science, Physiotherapy, Human Nutrition and Dietetics, Radiography and Radiation Science, and Dentistry.
Candidates must show evidence of sustained academic achievement, have served as Associate Professor for at least three years, and possess internationally recognised publications. Registration with a relevant professional body is mandatory where applicable.
Associate Professor
Candidates must hold a PhD or equivalent qualification in the relevant field with at least nine years of post-qualification experience. Applicants should demonstrate a strong record of scholarly publications and visibility on academic platforms such as Google Scholar or ResearchGate.
Senior Lecturer
Applicants must possess a PhD and have at least six years of teaching and research experience, including three years as Lecturer I at a recognised institution.
Lecturer I
Candidates should hold a PhD or equivalent qualification with a minimum of three years of relevant teaching experience. A minimum of two publications for PhD holders or three for Master’s degree holders is required.
Lecturer II
Applicants must possess a PhD in the relevant field or a Master’s degree for specific disciplines such as Law, Pharmacy, Nursing, Radiography, Engineering, and Medical Laboratory Science.
Assistant Lecturer
Candidates should have a Master’s degree with dissertation. For Law, applicants must possess a Second Class Upper Degree and a Barrister-at-Law (B.L.) qualification from the Nigerian Law School.
Graduate Assistant
Applicants must hold at least a Second Class Honours (Upper Division) in a relevant discipline from a recognised university.
