The management of Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu-Alike (AE-FUNAI), Ebonyi State, has announced the indefinite postponement of its 14th Matriculation Ceremony earlier scheduled for newly admitted students.
The decision was communicated through an official circular issued by the Office of the Registrar and applies to all arrangements previously announced for the event.
What The Official Circular Says
According to the circular, the matriculation ceremony earlier fixed for 5 February 2026 will no longer hold as planned. The university management stated that the programme has been put on hold, with a new date to be announced later.
EducationNGR also learnt that the postponement directive was issued on the authority of the Vice-Chancellor.
Earlier Date No Longer Valid
The matriculation ceremony had initially been scheduled to take place on 5 February 2026. However, the university has now confirmed that the event will not take place on that date.
When A New Date Will Be Announced
The management noted that a fresh date for the matriculation ceremony will be communicated to students and the wider university community in due course. Until then, members of the public have been advised to rely only on official communication from the university.
Message To Students And Stakeholders
The circular conveyed the Vice-Chancellor’s directive and expressed regret over any inconvenience the postponement may cause students, parents, guardians, and other stakeholders.
Students and members of the university community have been advised to take note of the development and await further updates from AE-FUNAI management.
