The Modibbo Adama University of Technology, Yola (MAUTECH) was established in 1981 by the Federal Government of Nigeria as the Federal University of Technology, Yola.
The university was created to promote technological advancement and scientific development in Nigeria, with a strong emphasis on engineering, agriculture, and applied sciences. In 2011, the institution was renamed in honour of Modibbo Adama, a historical figure and founder of the Adamawa Emirate.
