OSISATECH Polytechnic and College of Education Enugu popularly known as OSISATECH is a privately owned tertiary institution located in Enugu State, Nigeria. The institution operates as both a Polytechnic and a College of Education, offering National Diploma (ND), Higher National Diploma (HND), Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE), part-time, and professional education programmes. OSISATECH was founded by Rev. Fr. Prof. Emmanuel M. P. Edeh, a renowned Catholic priest and educationist who also founded institutions such as Madonna University and Caritas University. The institution was established primarily to provide quality higher education opportunities for disadvantaged and underserved students while promoting moral discipline, entrepreneurship, and technical education.

OSISATECH is accredited by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) and the National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE). Over the years, the institution has expanded its academic structure to include Polytechnic programmes, teacher education, continuing education, and degree-affiliated programmes. The school is widely recognised in South-East Nigeria for affordable tuition, accessible admission processes, and a strong emphasis on discipline and practical education.

History of the Institution

Our Saviour Institute of Science, Agriculture and Technology (OSISATECH) was established in 1989 in Enugu State, Nigeria. The institution was founded by Rev. Fr. Prof. Emmanuel Edeh with the vision of creating a higher institution that would provide educational opportunities to students who might otherwise be excluded from tertiary education opportunities in Nigeria.

Academic activities officially commenced in November 1990 with an initial intake of preliminary students. In 1991, the National Board for Technical Education approved the institution to begin National Diploma programmes. OSISATECH became one of the early privately owned tertiary institutions to benefit from Nigeria’s liberalisation policy for private higher education institutions during the 1990s.

The institution gradually developed into a dual-mandate institution combining Polytechnic and College of Education programmes. Today, OSISATECH runs ND, HND, NCE, part-time, and professional education programmes under several schools and departments. The institution also operates continuing education and affiliated degree programmes in selected education disciplines.

OSISATECH is also known for its mission-oriented educational structure and its emphasis on discipline, technical training, entrepreneurship, and moral values. The institution continues to attract students from Enugu State and neighbouring states across South-East Nigeria.

Admission Requirements

ND (National Diploma) Admission

Candidates applying for ND programmes are generally required to possess:

A minimum of five O’Level credits including English Language and Mathematics
Relevant subjects related to the chosen course
Acceptable results from WAEC, NECO, NABTEB, or equivalent examinations obtained in not more than two sittings
JAMB UTME participation for full-time ND applicants

The general JAMB cut-off mark is usually 100 and above.

HND Admission

Applicants for HND programmes must possess:

A relevant ND certificate from an accredited institution
Minimum of Lower Credit depending on department
Industrial Training (IT/SIWES) experience

NCE Admission

Candidates applying for NCE programmes are expected to possess:

Five O’Level credits including English Language
Relevant teaching subject combinations
