Federal University of Agriculture and Technology, Owerri (FUNATO) has secured membership of the Nigerian Universities Games Association (NUGA) following the successful completion of its application and registration process.

KASU Releases Revised Academic Calendar for 2025/2026 Session

Kaduna State University (KASU) has released a revised academic calendar for the continuation of the second semester of the 2025/2026 academic session. The updated schedule was announced through the university’s Directorate of Academic Planning to guide students and staff on the remaining academic activities for the session.

According to the revised calendar, lectures and continuous assessment activities will continue from 21st September to 6th November 2026, followed by Students’ Union elections and inauguration scheduled for 9th to 13th November 2026. Students are advised to take note of these dates and prepare accordingly for the completion of the semester.

The university has also scheduled the second semester examinations and marking exercise to hold from 16th November to 5th December 2026, while the processing of results will take place between 7th and 18th December 2026. The consideration and release of results by the Senate is scheduled for 21st to 23rd December 2026.

Following the completion of the session, the university has scheduled the end-of-session break from 18th December 2026 to 17th January 2027, while the new academic session is expected to commence on 18th January 2027. Students are encouraged to follow the revised academic calendar and make the necessary arrangements for examinations, registration, and other academic activities.

KASU Resumes Academic Activities After ASUU Strike Suspension

Kaduna State University (KASU) has announced the resumption of academic activities following the decision by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) to suspend its ongoing strike action. The university stated that academic activities will resume on Monday, 21 September 2026.

According to the university management, the decision followed the approval by the Kaduna State Governor and Visitor to the university to implement and domesticate the 2025 FGN-ASUU Agreement for academic staff. The approval was also followed by actions from the University Governing Council and management.

KASU management appreciated the state government, university council, ASUU-KASU, non-teaching staff, students, parents and other stakeholders for their patience and support throughout the period of the industrial action.

The university encouraged members of the academic community to return with renewed commitment to peace, discipline and academic excellence. Students were particularly welcomed back and advised to resume their studies with focus as academic activities continue.

Edo State University Resumption Date for Fresh and Returning Students, 2026/2027

Edo State University, Iyamho (ESUI), has announced the resumption schedule for newly admitted and returning students for the 2026/2027 academic session. The university released the dates for students’ arrival, screening, registration, orientation and commencement of lectures.

Newly admitted students are expected to resume into the university halls of residence on Saturday, 17th October 2026. Their screening and registration exercise will take place from Monday, 19th October to Friday, 30th October 2026, while the orientation programme for fresh students is scheduled for Wednesday, 28th October to Thursday, 29th October 2026.

Lectures for newly admitted students will commence on Monday, 2nd November 2026. Returning students, on the other hand, are expected to arrive on campus on Saturday, 31st October 2026, with their registration exercise scheduled to hold from Monday, 2nd November to Friday, 6th November 2026.

First semester lectures for returning students will begin on Monday, 9th November 2026. Students are advised to follow the schedule that applies to their category and complete all required registration processes within the stipulated periods.
