Ekiti State Scholarship Board 2025/2026 Scholarship And Bursary Applications

The Ekiti State Scholarship Board has announced the commencement of scholarship and bursary awards for indigenes of Ekiti State studying in Nigerian tertiary institutions for the 2025/2026 academic session. The Board confirmed that application forms are free and will be submitted entirely online through its official portal.

EducationNGR also learnt that the Board will not extend the application deadline under any circumstance.

Application Dates

Applications will be open from Monday, 9 February 2026 to Friday, 27 February 2026. The Board stated clearly that late submissions will not be considered.

Free online application forms are available for:

• Undergraduate students

• Master’s Degree students

• Ph.D candidates

• Physically Challenged applicants

Although the Board is located at the New Secretariat, Ado-Ekiti, all applications must be completed and submitted online through the official portal.

Awards Covered For The 2025/2026 Session

The scholarship and bursary scheme covers the following categories:

• Undergraduate awards

• Polytechnic awards

• Postgraduate awards (Master’s Degree and Ph.D)

• Handicapped Scholarship Award for Physically Challenged students

Eligibility For The Bursary Award

For undergraduate bursary applicants:

• Applicants must be in 2nd year and above

• Applicants must possess WASSCE or NECO with at least five credits, including English Language and Mathematics, obtained at one sitting

Eligible institutions include:

• Universities

• Polytechnics

• Colleges of Education

• Schools of Nursing and Midwifery

• Colleges of Health Technology

Eligibility For The Scholarship Award

Undergraduate Scholarship

Applicants must:

• Be in 2nd year and above

• Possess WASSCE or NECO with at least five credits, including English Language and Mathematics, at one sitting

• Meet the minimum academic performance requirement:

  • University students: minimum CGPA of 4.0 or its equivalent (Second Class Upper Division)

  • Polytechnic and NCE students: minimum CGPA of 3.50

Master’s Degree And Ph.D Scholarships

Applicants must meet the following conditions:

• Minimum of Second Class Upper Division at undergraduate level

• Ph.D applicants must also have a distinction at Master’s level

• Any Ph.D applicant with a first degree below Second Class Upper Division is not eligible, even with a Master’s distinction

Handicapped Scholarship Award

Physically Challenged students enrolled in tertiary institutions are eligible for the Handicapped Scholarship Award. Coverage includes students in:

• Universities

• Polytechnics

• Colleges of Education

• Schools of Nursing and Midwifery

• Colleges of Health Technology

• Postgraduate programmes

Who Is Not Eligible

The Board stated that students enrolled in Part-Time or Sandwich programmes are not eligible for either the bursary or scholarship awards.

Submission Deadline

All applications must be completed and submitted on or before Friday, 27 February 2026. The Board emphasised that incomplete or late applications will be rejected.
