A Local Task Force was subsequently constituted by the Olofa under the chairmanship of Alhaji Tiamiyu Olatinwo, with six other eminent Offa indigenes and Chief Ayotunde Raji as Secretary, to coordinate the take-off of the institution.

The pioneer Rector, Engr. Dr. Razaq Bello succeeded her as Rector from 2000 to 2006, followed by Dr. Mufutau Olatinwo, who served as Acting Rector before becoming the third substantive Rector from 2008.
