Abraham Adesanya Polytechnic  widely known as AAPOLY  is an Ogun State government-owned polytechnic located in Dogbolu/Akanran-Atikori, Ijebu-Igbo, Ogun State, South-West Nigeria. It is officially designated as an Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Polytechnic, established in 2006 in pursuance of offering technologically-based education for self-reliance. AAPOLY is fully accredited and licensed by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) to offer National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes in Science, Engineering, and Management. It has earned prestigious international partnerships with the Cisco Networking Academy and the Oracle Academy — programmes that transform lives with hands-on digital skills training and prepare students for the labour market. The polytechnic sits on the largest expanse of land of any institution in Ogun State — approximately 300 hectares — bordered by three states: Oyo, Osun, and Ondo. History of the Institution

The history of Abraham Adesanya Polytechnic can be traced back to 1979, when it was established by the government of the late Chief Olabisi Onabanjo due to the yearnings of the leaders of Ijebu-Igbo for a tertiary institution in the town. However, the institution did not last beyond one and a half years.

For decades, Ijebu-Igbo — a historically significant and commercially active community in Ogun State — was without a polytechnic institution. Fortune smiled on Ijebu-Igbo in 2005 when the law re-establishing the polytechnic was passed as Edict 31 of the Ogun State House of Assembly, naming it “The Polytechnic, Ijebu-Igbo”.

In 2009, the Ogun State House of Assembly passed another edict — Edict 37 of 2009 — to change the name of the institution to “Abraham Adesanya Polytechnic” in honour of the late Senator Chief Abraham Aderibigbe Adesanya, a prominent son of Ijebu-Igbo, a lawyer, and a senator who represented the Ogun State community during the Second Republic in Nigeria.

Abraham Adesanya Polytechnic is an Ogun State government-owned ICT Polytechnic established in 2006, licensed and approved by the NBTE to offer ND and HND programmes in Science, Engineering and Management courses, alongside Cisco Networking Academy and Oracle Academy programmes that transform lives with hands-on digital skills training and prepare students for the labour market. Admission Requirements

ND (National Diploma) Full-Time Admission

  • A minimum of five (5) O’Level credit passes including English Language and Mathematics, obtained in not more than two sittings in WAEC, NECO, GCE O’Level, or NABTEB.
  • A valid JAMB UTME score of at least 120 is required. Candidates must select Abraham Adesanya Polytechnic as their institution of first choice.
  • All eligible candidates must participate in the AAPOLY Post-UTME screening exercise.

HND (Higher National Diploma) Admission

Students generate an RRR (Remita Retrieval Reference) and can pay online with a debit card or at any commercial bank. The fees payable at AAPOLY include acceptance fee, workshop fee, municipal charges, ICT charges, Entrepreneurship Development Project fee, and other compulsory fees for new and returning students. Late payment of AAPOLY tuition fees attracts extra charges, and failure to pay fees on time could lead to the student’s inability to sit for their semester examinations or forfeiture of admission.

Abraham Adesanya Polytechnic SUG Fee Reduced to N3,500

The Students’ Union Government (SUG) of Abraham Adesanya Polytechnic has announced an adjustment to the Students’ Union fee following consultations and a review with the Students’ Representative Council (SRC) and the Polytechnic Management. The new SUG fee has been fixed at ₦3,500 and takes effect immediately.

The SUG stated that the revised fee was approved through the appropriate channels. Students will also receive a souvenir when exchanging their payment receipt, according to the notice.

The Students’ Union acknowledged that the fee adjustment may raise concerns but said the decision followed due consideration of the interests of the union and its activities. Students are encouraged to take note of the new fee and comply with the updated payment arrangement.

The University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) has released its 2026/2027 provisional admission list for candidates who participated in the admission screening exercise. Candidates can now check their admission status through the JAMB Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS).

To check, visit the JAMB eFacility portal and log in with your registered email address and password. From the dashboard, select “Check Admission Status”, then click “Access my CAPS” and select “Admission Status” to view your admission decision.

UNIMAID Extends Hostel Booking Deadline for 2026/2027 

The University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) has extended the deadline for its Hostel Online Booking exercise for the 2026/2027 academic session. According to a notice dated 15 September 2026 from the Office of the Dean of Student Affairs, online hostel booking will open on 30 September 2026 at 8:00pm and will now close on 31 October 2026 at midnight. Students can access the booking portal at umstad.online.

Students who intend to secure hostel accommodation are advised to visit the Microfinance Bank before the booking date to purchase their hostel PIN and have it validated. This should be completed before the portal opens to avoid delays during the booking process.

After completing the online booking, students are required to make payment immediately so that their temporary reservation does not expire. Payment must then be verified on the portal, after which students should print their official Hostel Permit and Hostel Receipt. UNIMAID stated that accommodation allocation will not be finalised until these steps have been completed, and students who fail to print the required documents will not be attended to.

ADUSTECH Final Year Students to Pay N2,000 Sanitation Levy Before Clearance

The Deanery of Student Affairs of Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology (ADUSTECH) has congratulated final year students on completing their examinations. However, the university has raised concerns about the waste and litter left across the campus following graduation celebrations.

Management has directed all final year students to contribute N2,000 each towards the cost of the campus-wide clean-up exercise. The payment should be made to the Student Affairs Maintenance Account, Account Number 1226568934, with Zenith Bank.

Students are required to present evidence of payment, such as a bank teller or transfer receipt, to the Student Affairs Clearance Officer for verification. Joseph Sarwuan Tarka University, Makurdi (UAM) was established in 1988 by the Federal Government of Nigeria as the University of Agriculture, Makurdi. It was one of the specialized universities created to promote agricultural education, research, and food security in Nigeria.

The university was named after Joseph Sarwuan Tarka, a prominent Nigerian politician and advocate for agricultural development. In 2019, the institution was officially renamed in his honour to reflect his contributions to Nigeria’s agricultural sector.

JOSTUM Announces Resumption Date and Examinations Details 2026

The Management of Joseph Sarwuan Tarka University, Makurdi (JOSTUM), has announced the reopening of the university campus following the suspension of the strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), FUAM Branch. The decision was considered at the university management meeting held on 11 September 2026.

According to the notice, all students are expected to return to campus on Sunday, 13 September 2026. Students are to use the period after their return to continue preparations and revision for the Second Semester Examinations, which are scheduled to commence on Monday, 21 September 2026.

The university administration has urged students to maintain good conduct throughout the revision period and examinations. Final-year students have also been reminded that activities relating to “Signing Out” remain prohibited, as the Federal Government’s ban on such activities is still in force.

JOSTUM welcomed students back to campus and encouraged them to approach the examinations responsibly. Students are advised to follow official university announcements for any further updates concerning the academic calendar and examination arrangements.

Lagos State University popularly known as LASU  is a state-owned public university located in Ojo, Lagos State, South-West Nigeria. Established in 1983 by the enabling law of Lagos State during the administration of Alhaji Lateef Kayode Jakande, the first Executive Governor of Lagos State, LASU was founded with the vision of pursuing the advancement of learning and establishing academic excellence. With a student population of over 35,000 and academic programmes spanning 14 faculties and multiple schools, LASU is the largest state university in Nigeria and one of the most sought-after institutions in the country, receiving over 79,000 UTME applications in 2025 alone. The university has been ranked as the 2nd best university in Nigeria and the best young university in Nigeria by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings, and is the only state university included in the THE rankings for Nigeria. The current Vice-Chancellor is Professor Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello.

History of the Institution

The idea of establishing a university for Lagos State was conceived as part of the effort to expand access to higher education and reverse the low rate of indigenous university attendance in Lagos. In 1982, a 12-man technical committee headed by Dr. Abisogun Leigh recommended the establishment of a multi-campus, non-residential university to be named Lagos State University (LASU). The committee recommended that the main campus at Ojo should accommodate the Faculties of Humanities, Sciences, Education, Business Studies, and Law, while capital-intensive faculties such as Agriculture, Engineering, and Environmental Studies would be established later at other campuses.

Following the committee’s recommendation, a firm decision was taken in early 1983 to establish the university. The LASU Implementation Committee was inaugurated under the chairmanship of Governor Jakande, and its inaugural meeting was held on Monday, 17th March 1983. In October 1983, the government turned the seed of the Lagos State University at the site of the present Works and Services Department. University staff relocated from the Old Secretariat at Ikeja to the main campus at Ojo on Monday, 19th December 1983.

LASU began its academic operations with three pioneer faculties: Commerce and Business Administration (later renamed Business and Social Studies), Law, and Medicine. The faculties of Arts, Education, Engineering, Science, Social Sciences, Management Sciences, Communication, and the School of Transport were added in subsequent years.

The university operates three major campuses: the Main Campus at Ojo — the seat of central administration — which houses most humanities, law, sciences, management, education, and social science faculties; the Ikeja Campus, home to the Lagos State University College of Medicine (LASUCOM); and the Epe Campus, which accommodates the Faculty of Engineering, School of Agriculture, Institute for Organic Agriculture and Green Economy, Faculty of Environmental Sciences, and pre-degree programmes. The Epe Campus is fully residential and was developed from military barracks released during the administration of then Military Governor Olusegun Obasanjo.

Among its notable achievements, LASU was ranked among the top 600 universities in the world by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings for 2020 and ranked as the second best university in Nigeria in 2021. On 23rd June 2021, it emerged as the best young university in Nigeria. In 2023, LASU offered ₦10 million to its best graduating student. The university launched LASU Radio 95.7 FM in 2016, with the catchphrase Lively and Solidly Unique. It was also recognised as the best state university in Nigeria by the AD Scientific Index 2024. The Centre of Excellence for Sargassum Research (CESAR) is one of LASU’s flagship research initiatives.

LASU Admission Forms/Requirements

UTME (Undergraduate) Admission

  • A minimum of five (5) O’Level credit passes including English Language and Mathematics, obtained in not more than two sittings in WAEC, NECO, GCE O’Level, or NABTEB.
  • A valid JAMB UTME score meeting the minimum cut-off mark of 190 is required. Candidates must select Lagos State University as their institution of first choice on JAMB. LASU does not accept second-choice candidates.
  • LASU does not conduct a Post-UTME examination. Instead, it conducts an automatic online screening exercise based on a calculation of your O’Level results and JAMB UTME score. The higher the aggregate score, the stronger the candidate’s chances of being admitted.
  • As a state university, Lagos State indigenes receive priority consideration and pay reduced fees compared to non-indigenes.

LASU 2026/2027 Direct Entry Admission Screening Form is Out

Lagos State University (LASU) has invited suitably qualified candidates to participate in its 2026/2027 Direct Entry (DE) Admission Screening Exercise. The online screening is mandatory for candidates seeking admission into LASU through Direct Entry for the academic session. Candidates must have obtained the JAMB Direct Entry form and selected Lagos State University as their first-choice institution. LASU Foundation (JUPEB) candidates are also eligible, while only the LASU Diploma is accepted for Direct Entry, except for NCE holders applying for programmes in the Faculty of Education.

Eligible candidates can begin the process by visiting the LASU official website and navigating to Student → New Applicants → UTME/DE Screening, or directly accessing the LASU Admission Screening Portal. Applicants are required to log in with their DE registration number and surname, make the admission screening payment, and complete the online self-screening form. They must provide their personal information, select their course, indicate the number of O’Level sittings and upload the required O’Level details. Candidates are also required to upload their O’Level results on JAMB CAPS before the screening exercise closes.

Applicants must have at least five relevant O’Level credit passes in not more than two sittings, although specific programmes may have additional requirements. Candidates applying for Engineering programmes with two O’Level sittings must have six relevant credits, including Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and English Language, while Aeronautic and Astronautic Engineering requires a credit in Further Mathematics. English Language is compulsory for all LASU programmes. Candidates should also note that examinations taken after July 2026 will not be accepted. Lagos State indigenes who have already completed the university’s Independent Indigeneship Verification Committee (IIVC) process will have their claims validated automatically.

The LASU 2026/2027 Direct Entry screening registration and payment period runs from 12 September to 26 September 2026 at 12 midnight. Candidates should carefully review and certify their information before submitting the screening form because the screening decision will be based on the information supplied. After completing the process, applicants can download their screening report from the screening homepage. Direct Entry candidates are also expected to submit copies of their Admission Screening Report and Diploma/NCE result notification at the Admission Annex/Liaison Office, Room 7, Administrative Block II. BUK Approves Special Resit Examinations for Eligible Students

The Senate of Bayero University, Kano (BUK) has approved the introduction of special resit examinations for eligible students, particularly final-year and spill-over students who meet the requirements set by the university. The decision was reached during the university’s 438th Senate meeting held on Wednesday, 26 August 2026.

Under the approved arrangement, the special resit examinations will be conducted at the end of the academic session and subsequently whenever the need arises. The initiative is intended to give qualifying students an additional opportunity to clear outstanding taught courses and progress towards completing their programmes.

To qualify, a student must have registered for, attempted and failed the relevant taught course in a regular examination. Final-year students must not have failed more than three courses, while spill-over students must not have failed more than five courses to be considered eligible for the special resit examination.

The approval provides an additional academic opportunity for students who meet the stipulated conditions, but eligibility remains subject to the procedures and requirements approved by Senate. Students who believe they qualify should follow official BUK communications for further information about the examination schedule, registration process and other implementation details.

Joseph Ayo Babalola University  widely known as JABU  is a private Christian university located in Ikeji-Arakeji, Osun State, South-West Nigeria. Established in 2006 by the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), JABU was named after Apostle Joseph Ayo Babalola — the founding father of the CAC and one of Nigeria’s most revered Christian revivalists. The university is fully accredited by the National Universities Commission (NUC) and holds the notable distinction of being rated the First Entrepreneurial University in Nigeria — entrepreneurship education is embedded in all academic programmes, and every student must acquire at least one skill from the Skills Acquisition Centre before graduation. JABU is a member of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN), the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), and the Association of African Business Schools (AABS). The university offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes across six colleges covering Agriculture, Environmental Sciences, Health Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences, Law, and Management Sciences. History of the Institution

Joseph Ayo Babalola University was established in 2006 by the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), one of Nigeria’s largest and oldest Pentecostal denominations. The university is named after Apostle Joseph Ayo Babalola (1904 — 1959), the founding father of the CAC and a celebrated figure in Nigerian Christian history, known for his extraordinary revival missions and miraculous healings across Nigeria and West Africa in the 1930s.

From its founding, JABU distinguished itself by integrating entrepreneurship education into every academic programme — a model that earned it the designation of Nigeria’s first entrepreneurial university. This approach ensures that graduates are not only academically qualified but are also equipped with practical, market-ready skills. Every student must complete a skills acquisition programme at the university’s Skills Acquisition Centre, gaining a tangible vocational or entrepreneurial competency alongside their degree.

Over its nearly two decades of operation, JABU has grown steadily — expanding its colleges, strengthening postgraduate programmes, and building modern academic infrastructure in the serene environment of Ikeji-Arakeji along the Ilesa-Akure Road in Osun State. In a recent milestone, the Governing Council announced the appointment of Professor Eludire as the first Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the institution, reflecting continued institutional growth and maturity. JABU Resumption Notice for 2026/2027 Academic Session

Joseph Ayo Babalola University (JABU) has announced its resumption arrangements for the 2026/2027 academic session. The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olasebikan Alade Fakolujo, has welcomed students, staff, parents and other members of the university community to the new academic session.

According to the notice, fresh students (freshers) are expected to resume on Monday, 21 September 2026. Newly admitted students should take note of the date and make the necessary arrangements to begin their academic activities as scheduled.

Returning students are expected to resume on Saturday, 26 September 2026. The university has also scheduled its First Semester Parents Forum for Saturday, 26 September 2026, giving parents an opportunity to engage with the university as the new academic session begins.

Students and parents are advised to take note of their respective dates and make appropriate preparations ahead of resumption. Freshers should particularly ensure that they complete any required admission and registration processes before or upon arrival at the university.
