UNIMAID Admission List 2026/2027 Released on JAMB CAPS

The University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) has released its 2026/2027 provisional admission list for candidates who participated in the admission screening exercise. Candidates can now check their admission status through the JAMB Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS).

To check, visit the JAMB eFacility portal and log in with your registered email address and password. From the dashboard, select “Check Admission Status”, then click “Access my CAPS” and select “Admission Status” to view your admission decision.

Candidates who have been offered admission should accept or reject the offer by sending ACCEPT or REJECT to 55019 or 66019 using the phone number registered with JAMB. UNIMAID Resumption Dates for 2026/2027 Academic Session

The University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) has announced the resumption dates for the 2026/2027 academic session, outlining the schedule for newly admitted and returning students. The dates were communicated in an official circular issued by the Office of the Registrar on 12 October 2026, following approval by the university Senate at its 325th meeting held on 8 October 2026.

The university has scheduled the resumption of the 2026/2027 academic session for Monday, 16 November 2026. Newly admitted students are also expected to resume and commence registration on the same date.

Returning students are to begin registration and lectures simultaneously on Monday, 30 November 2026. The schedule has been communicated to staff, students and other members of the university community.

Newly admitted and returning students are advised to take note of the announced dates and make the necessary preparations ahead of resumption. They should also monitor the university’s official communication channels for further updates on registration and academic activities. UNIMAID Extends Mandatory Portal Registration Deadline to October 20

The management of the University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) has extended the deadline for mandatory portal profile updates and course registration for all undergraduate students to Tuesday, 20 October 2026. The extension follows concerns that many students have yet to complete their profiles and outstanding registration requirements.

Students are required to log in to the official university portal at unimaid.online to update their biodata, upload the required documents, capture their electronic signatures and complete their semester course registration. Documents to be uploaded include the JAMB admission letter, O’Level results, primary school certificate and indigene form. Students must also use an appropriate photograph, as casual or stylised photographs are prohibited.

The university has directed students to change their default portal passwords and keep their login details secure. After completing the registration process, students must print their biodata forms and finalised course registration forms and submit the hard copies to their respective Heads of Department (HODs) before the deadline. Students experiencing technical difficulties or profile errors can visit the Computer and ICT Centre or call 07037795011 for assistance.

The management warned that students who fail to complete all the required steps before the portal closes on 20 October 2026 risk automatic withdrawal from the university, even if they have already sat for and completed their final examinations for the current session. The notice was signed by the Registrar, Ahmad A. Lawan. All undergraduate students are advised to complete their registrations and submit the required documents promptly.

UNIMAID Online Registration Documents and Deadline 2026/2027

TASFUED Merit Post UTME Admission List 2026/2027 is Out

Tai Solarin Federal University of Education (TASUED) has released its admission list for the 2026/2027 academic session. Candidates who participated in the university’s Post UTME screening can now check their admission status to find out whether they have been offered a place.

Candidates can check their status through the TASFUED admission portal by logging into their dashboard with the email address and password used during registration. NUC Begins Resource Assessment at TASFUED

The National Universities Commission (NUC) has commenced a resource assessment exercise at Tai Solarin Federal University of Education (TASFUED), Ijagun, to evaluate the university’s academic resources, facilities and capacity to deliver its programmes. The assessment team includes NUC representatives and academics from universities across Nigeria.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Samuel Oladipo, welcomed the assessors and reaffirmed the university’s commitment to objective assessment and continuous improvement of its academic standards. The university management also expressed its readiness to cooperate with the team throughout the exercise.

Prof. Oladipo highlighted TASFUED’s focus on combining academic knowledge with practical, entrepreneurial and vocational skills. Through its dual-competency and dual-certification approach, students receive training in areas including agriculture, garment making, shoe production and technology-based crafts. The university is also strengthening its business incubation activities to help students develop ideas into viable enterprises.

The resource assessment covers Business Administration, Artificial Intelligence, Statistics, Communication and Language Arts, Psychology, Sustainable Land Management, Primary and Special Education, Peace and Conflict Resolution, History and Diplomatic Studies, Local Government and Development Studies, and Cyber Security.

One of the team leaders, Professor Charles Uchenna Uwakwe, commended the additional practical skills available to students and described the exercise as an opportunity to provide an external assessment of the university’s preparedness and capacity. He said the process would be guided by fairness, objectivity and professionalism, while encouraging the university to regard the team’s observations as constructive feedback.

The assessment team includes academics from the University of Ibadan, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Nasarawa State University, University of Calabar, University of Uyo, University of Lagos and National Open University of Nigeria, alongside representatives of the NUC.

AE-FUNAI Supplementary Admission 2026/2027

Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu-Alike (AE-FUNAI) has approved supplementary admission for the 2026/2027 academic session for candidates who applied to the university but have not yet received an admission offer. Eligible candidates must have scored at least 150 in JAMB UTME, meet the UTME and O’Level subject requirements for their chosen programme, and make a change of course on JAMB CAPS to the advertised programme. JOSTUM Announces 101st Inaugural Lecture

Joseph Sarwuan Tarka University, Makurdi (JOSTUM) has announced its 101st Inaugural Lecture, with members of the academic community and the general public invited to attend. The lecture will focus on developments in inorganic chemistry and their practical applications in safeguarding human life.

The lecture will be delivered by Professor Moses Saviour Iorungwa, Professor of Inorganic Chemistry in the Department of Chemistry. He will speak on the topic, “Schiff Bases and Their Transition Metal Complexes: A Song of Victory for the Guardians of Life.”

The event is scheduled for Wednesday, 14 October 2026, at the Aper Aku Auditorium, North Core, JOSTUM. Guests and attendees are expected to arrive and be seated by 11:30 a.m., while the academic procession will commence at 11:45 a.m.

The inaugural lecture is scheduled to begin at 12:00 noon. JOSTUM said members of the university community, academics, students and invited guests are expected to be seated on time to ensure that the proceedings commence as scheduled.

JOSTUM Announces Resumption Date and Examinations Details 2026

The Management of Joseph Sarwuan Tarka University, Makurdi (JOSTUM), has announced the reopening of the university campus following the suspension of the strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), FUAM Branch. The decision was considered at the university management meeting held on 11 September 2026.

According to the notice, all students are expected to return to campus on Sunday, 13 September 2026. Students are to use the period after their return to continue preparations and revision for the Second Semester Examinations, which are scheduled to commence on Monday, 21 September 2026.

The university administration has urged students to maintain good conduct throughout the revision period and examinations. Final-year students have also been reminded that activities relating to “Signing Out” remain prohibited, as the Federal Government’s ban on such activities is still in force.

JOSTUM welcomed students back to campus and encouraged them to approach the examinations responsibly. Students are advised to follow official university announcements for any further updates concerning the academic calendar and examination arrangements.

Lagos State University popularly known as LASU  is a state-owned public university located in Ojo, Lagos State, South-West Nigeria. Established in 1983 by the enabling law of Lagos State during the administration of Alhaji Lateef Kayode Jakande, the first Executive Governor of Lagos State, LASU was founded with the vision of pursuing the advancement of learning and establishing academic excellence. With a student population of over 35,000 and academic programmes spanning 14 faculties and multiple schools, LASU is the largest state university in Nigeria and one of the most sought-after institutions in the country, receiving over 79,000 UTME applications in 2025 alone. The university has been ranked as the 2nd best university in Nigeria and the best young university in Nigeria by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings, and is the only state university included in the THE rankings for Nigeria. History of the Institution

The idea of establishing a university for Lagos State was conceived as part of the effort to expand access to higher education and reverse the low rate of indigenous university attendance in Lagos. In 1982, a 12-man technical committee headed by Dr. Abisogun Leigh recommended the establishment of a multi-campus, non-residential university to be namedLagos State University (LASU). The committee recommended that the main campus at Ojo should accommodate the Faculties of Humanities, Sciences, Education, Business Studies, and Law, while capital-intensive faculties such as Agriculture, Engineering, and Environmental Studies would be established later at other campuses.

Following the committee’s recommendation, a firm decision was taken in early 1983 to establish the university. The LASU Implementation Committee was inaugurated under the chairmanship of Governor Jakande, and its inaugural meeting was held on Monday, 17th March 1983. In October 1983, the government turned the seed of the Lagos State University at the site of the present Works and Services Department. University staff relocated from the Old Secretariat at Ikeja to the main campus at Ojo on Monday, 19th December 1983.

LASU began its academic operations with three pioneer faculties: Commerce and Business Administration (later renamed Business and Social Studies), Law, and Medicine. The faculties of Arts, Education, Engineering, Science, Social Sciences, Management Sciences, Communication, and the School of Transport were added in subsequent years.

The university operates three major campuses: the Main Campus at Ojo — the seat of central administration — which houses most humanities, law, sciences, management, education, and social science faculties; the Ikeja Campus, home to the Lagos State University College of Medicine (LASUCOM); and the Epe Campus, which accommodates the Faculty of Engineering, School of Agriculture, Institute for Organic Agriculture and Green Economy, Faculty of Environmental Sciences, and pre-degree programmes. The Epe Campus is fully residential and was developed from military barracks released during the administration of then Military Governor Olusegun Obasanjo.

Among its notable achievements, LASU was ranked among the top 600 universities in the world by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings for 2020 and ranked as the second best university in Nigeria in 2021. LASU 2026/2027 Direct Entry Admission Screening Form is Out

Lagos State University (LASU) has invited suitably qualified candidates to participate in its 2026/2027 Direct Entry (DE) Admission Screening Exercise. The online screening is mandatory for candidates seeking admission into LASU through Direct Entry for the academic session. Candidates must have obtained the JAMB Direct Entry form and selected Lagos State University as their first-choice institution. LASU Foundation (JUPEB) candidates are also eligible, while only the LASU Diploma is accepted for Direct Entry, except for NCE holders applying for programmes in the Faculty of Education.

Eligible candidates can begin the process by visiting the LASU official website and navigating to Student → New Applicants → UTME/DE Screening, or directly accessing the LASU Admission Screening Portal. Applicants are required to log in with their DE registration number and surname, make the admission screening payment, and complete the online self-screening form. They must provide their personal information, select their course, indicate the number of O’Level sittings and upload the required O’Level details. Candidates are also required to upload their O’Level results on JAMB CAPS before the screening exercise closes.

Applicants must have at least five relevant O’Level credit passes in not more than two sittings, although specific programmes may have additional requirements. Candidates applying for Engineering programmes with two O’Level sittings must have six relevant credits, including Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and English Language, while Aeronautic and Astronautic Engineering requires a credit in Further Mathematics. English Language is compulsory for all LASU programmes. Candidates should also note that examinations taken after July 2026 will not be accepted. Lagos State indigenes who have already completed the university’s Independent Indigeneship Verification Committee (IIVC) process will have their claims validated automatically.

The LASU 2026/2027 Direct Entry screening registration and payment period runs from 12 September to 26 September 2026 at 12 midnight. Candidates should carefully review and certify their information before submitting the screening form because the screening decision will be based on the information supplied. LASU Reopens Indigeneship Verification Portal for JUPEB and Direct Entry Candidates 2026/2027

Lagos State University (LASU) has reopened its 2026/2027 Independent Indigeneship Verification Exercise (IIVE) portal for eligible JUPEB and other Direct Entry candidates of Lagos State origin who have not previously participated in the exercise. The special verification window, approved by the Vice-Chancellor, runs from Monday, 12 October, to Friday, 16 October 2026.

The exercise is exclusively for JUPEB 2026 graduates and other Direct Entry candidates who are indigenes of Lagos State and selected LASU as their first-choice institution during the 2026 JAMB registration. Physical verification will take place at the New TETFund Building, Faculty of Arts, covering all divisions of Lagos State.

Eligible candidates are required to register and make payments through the university’s authorised online payment channel. They must attend the physical screening with their original documents, including their JAMB Direct Entry slip, evidence of Lagos State indigeneship, payment receipt and registration confirmation. Successful candidates will receive an LASU Indigeneship Clearance Certificate.

LASU has emphasised that the verification exercise is a mandatory pre-admission requirement for eligible candidates of Lagos State origin. However, obtaining the clearance certificate does not guarantee admission; it is required before an admission offer can be processed. Candidates are advised to complete the process before the Friday, 16 October 2026 deadline and avoid payments to individuals, agents or unauthorised accounts.

LASU Extends Direct Entry Screening Exercise for 2026/2027

Lagos State University (LASU) has extended its online admission screening exercise for the 2026/2027 academic session for Direct Entry (DE) candidates, including students of the LASU School of Basic and Advanced Studies enrolled in the JUPEB programme.

According to the university, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ayodeji Olawunmi Badejo, approved the extension to give candidates who have yet to complete their screening additional time to do so.

The screening exercise will now close at 12:00 midnight on Sunday, 11 October 2026. All affected candidates are advised to complete their screening before the deadline.

LASU has stated that there will be no further extension. Direct Entry applicants and eligible JUPEB students who have not completed the process should take advantage of the extended deadline to finalise their screening.

BUK UTME Screening Portal Reopens 2026/2027

Bayero University, Kano (BUK) has reopened its UTME screening portal for eligible candidates seeking admission into the university for the 2026/2027 academic session. The reopening provides another opportunity for candidates who are yet to complete the screening registration.

According to a special bulletin issued by the university on Wednesday, 30 September 2026, the screening portal will remain open from Thursday, 1 October to Sunday, 4 October 2026.

BUK Add/Drop Exercise 2025/2026

Bayero University Kano (BUK) has released guidelines for the second semester add/drop course exercise for undergraduate students for the 2025/2026 academic session. The exercise is open to affected students who wish to add or drop courses and will run for two weeks, from 5 to 18 October 2026.

Students intending to participate must have completed their registration with the university for the 2025/2026 session and should first meet their Level Coordinator for guidance. After obtaining the necessary guidance, students are required to make payment through Remita by selecting the UG Add and Drop service.

The university’s portal will be available to eligible students from Monday, 5 October to Sunday, 18 October 2026. After completing the exercise, students should reprint their Course Registration Form (CRF) and submit it to their Level Coordinator for documentation.

BUK NELFUND Applications and Refund Claims 2026/2027

Bayero University, Kano (BUK) has announced that the Nigeria Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has commenced applications for the 2026/2027 academic session. Students who wish to apply for the student loan are advised to complete their applications through the official NELFUND portal.

Students with Change of Course or Change of Institution requests are also required to complete the designated Google Form and provide accurate information to support the processing of their requests. The 2026/2027 NELFUND application exercise will remain open until 31 December 2026.

BUK Veterinary Students Dress Code for World Rabies Day 2026

The Association of Veterinary Medical Students, Bayero University Kano (AVMS BUK), has issued a dress code notice to members ahead of the 2026 World Rabies Day celebration.

In a memo dated Friday, September 25, 2026, the association directed all members to appear in full corporate dress on Monday, September 28, 2026 for the scheduled activities.

The approved dress code consists of a long-sleeve shirt, neck tie, covered shoes, and a lab coat with name tag. Members are expected to dress accordingly for official photographs, parade activities, media appearances and other programmes lined up for the celebration.

BUK Warns Against Fraudulent Facebook Account Impersonating Vice-Chancellor

Bayero University, Kano (BUK) has warned the public, staff, students and other stakeholders about a fraudulent Facebook account allegedly created to impersonate the university’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Haruna Musa, fsi. The university said the account is being used to falsely present the operator as the Vice-Chancellor.

According to the university, the operators of the fake account have been directing unsuspecting individuals to communicate privately through WhatsApp using 09128675732 and other phone numbers. BUK clarified that the Vice-Chancellor has not authorised, created or consented to the Facebook account or any related WhatsApp contact.

The university also stated that no individual or group has been authorised to solicit money, offer employment, facilitate admissions or conduct official university business through personal social media accounts or private WhatsApp numbers. Members of the public are therefore advised not to engage or transact with the operators of the fraudulent account.

BUK said the matter has been formally reported to relevant law enforcement agencies for investigation and prosecution. The university advised the public to rely on its official communication channels for authentic information and warned that it would not be responsible for financial losses or other damages arising from dealings with the impersonators.

OAU ASUU 2026 Scholarship Award for Indigent Students

Applications are now open for the 2026 ASUU Scholarship Award at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU). The scholarship is available to registered OAU students who are indigent and have a CGPA of 3.0 or above. Eligible students are required to submit an application letter together with the specified supporting documents.

Applicants must prepare an application letter of not more than two pages, stating their name, course of study, year of study, state of origin, email address and phone number. The letter should be accompanied by a photocopy of the current OAU student identity card, a letter from the Head of Department confirming the applicant’s CGPA or academic transcript for the preceding session, the current semester registration form and two recent passport photographs.

Completed applications must be submitted in person to the Administrative Secretary, Mrs Asunde, at the ASUU OAU Secretariat, opposite the Centre for Gender and Social Policy Studies. OAU Emerges Overall Champion of WAUG 2026

Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, has emerged overall champion of the 2026 West African Universities Games (WAUG), held from 2 to 12 October 2026. The host institution finished at the top of the medal table with 122 medals, comprising 33 gold, 50 silver and 39 bronze.

The University of Ghana finished second with 59 medals, including 26 gold, 21 silver and 12 bronze, while Benson Idahosa University came third with 38 medals. The University of Ibadan placed fourth with 42 medals, followed by Lagos State University with 17 medals. Other participating institutions included Afe Babalola University, Delta State University, the University of Ilorin and the University of Cape Coast.

The final medal table featured 23 universities. OAU led the standings, while the University of Ghana recorded the second-highest number of gold medals. Benson Idahosa University secured 21 gold medals, and the University of Ibadan won 17 gold medals. The results reflected the performances of participating institutions across the sporting events.

The Games were hosted by OAU in Ile-Ife and brought together universities from across West Africa. According to the organisers’ account, 50 universities featured at the event, with more than 1,500 athletes and officials expected to participate across 18 sports. The competition provided a platform for student-athletes to demonstrate their abilities, interact with peers and represent their institutions.

OAU Announces 431st Inaugural Lecture

Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, has announced its 431st Inaugural Lecture, titled “Endocrine Disruptors Everywhere: How Safe Is Our Environment?” The lecture will focus on issues surrounding endocrine-disrupting substances and environmental safety.

The lecture will be delivered by Professor Aderemi Okunola Ogunfowokan, a Professor of Analytical and Environmental Chemistry. He holds BSc, MSc and PhD qualifications and is a Fellow of the Chemical Society of Nigeria (FCSN).

The event is scheduled to hold on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. prompt at Oduduwa Hall, OAU, Ile-Ife. The lecture will be chaired by the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Professor Adebayo Simeon Bamire.

Adamawa State University (ADSU) has released its first admission list for the 2026/2027 academic session. Bauchi State University, Gadau  widely known as BASUG  is a state-owned university located in Gadau, Alkaleri Local Government Area, Bauchi State, North-East Nigeria. Established in 2011, it was recently renamed Sa’adu Zungur University (SAZU) in honour of the revered Bauchi-born poet, teacher, and nationalist, Malam Sa’adu Zungur. The university’s official website and portals now operate under the SAZU branding at sazu.edu.ng. The institution is fully accredited and recognised by the National Universities Commission (NUC), and offers undergraduate, postgraduate, part-time, IJMB, and remedial programmes across multiple faculties. The current Vice-Chancellor is Professor Fatimah Tahir, the third substantive Vice-Chancellor of the university.

History of the Institution

Bauchi State University, Gadau was established under Bauchi State law in 2010, with academic activities taking off in January 2012. The university was conceived to expand access to tertiary education in Bauchi State and contribute to the human capital development of the region. In March 2011, the Bauchi State Government enlisted the assistance of a consultant to finalise the institution’s structure and ensure a smooth academic take-off for the 2011/2012 academic session.

The university began as a multi-campus institution with three campuses at Gadau (the main campus and administrative hub), Misau, and Bauchi (Yuli). A fourth campus at Jama’are was later established to house the Faculty of Agriculture, but was subsequently taken over by the Federal College of Education, Yola, and the Faculty of Agriculture was relocated to the main campus in Gadau.

The institution has had two substantive Vice-Chancellors — Professor Ezeldeen Abdulrahman and Professor Auwal Uba — and an interim administration before the current Vice-Chancellor, Professor Fatimah Tahir, assumed office. In January 2026, Sa’adu Zungur University matriculated 4,024 new students for the 2025/2026 academic session, reflecting the institution’s continued growth. The university’s motto, Illimi Tushen Cigaba (Knowledge is the Foundation of Development), underscores its commitment to learning and community impact.

SAZU Releases 2026/2027 First, Second, Third and Fourth Admission Lists online

Sa’adu Zungur University (SAZU), formerly known as Bauchi State University, Gadau, has released its first, second, third and fourth admission lists for the 2026/2027 academic session. Candidates who applied for admission can now check the published lists through the university’s website to confirm whether they have been offered admission. The released batches include the first, second, third and fourth admission lists, giving applicants multiple opportunities to check their admission status.

Candidates can access the relevant lists through the university’s admission notices: first batch, second batch, third batch and fourth batch.
