The management of Yobe State University (YSU) has approved an extension of the registration exercise for the 2025/2026 academic session, giving students additional time to complete all required processes.
The update was conveyed through a general circular signed by the University Registrar, Isa Audu Dallari, and dated 2 February 2026. EducationNGR also learnt that the extension is aimed at allowing students to resolve outstanding documentation and avoid unnecessary penalties.
Revised Registration Timelines
YSU has structured the registration exercise into two distinct phases: an extended normal registration period and a late registration period.
Normal Registration Extension
The extended normal registration period commenced on 2 February 2026 and will run until 7 February 2026. Students are expected to complete all registration requirements within this window to avoid additional charges.
Late Registration Period
Students who fail to register during the extension period will be allowed to do so during the late registration phase, which is scheduled from 9 February 2026 to 14 February 2026.
Late Registration Penalty
The university has approved a late registration fee of ₦5,000 for students who complete their registration during the late period. This penalty applies strictly to registrations processed between 9 February 2026 and 14 February 2026.
Registration Portal Closure
YSU management confirmed that the registration portal for the 2025/2026 academic session will be permanently closed on 14 February 2026. No registrations or payments will be accepted after this date.
Important Notice To Students
The circular applies to both fresh and returning students. All affected students are advised to complete their registration within the approved timelines to avoid late fees and complications associated with missing the final deadline.
