Nigeria Maritime University JUPEB Admission Form is Out, 2026/2027
Nigeria Maritime University (NMU), Okerenkoko, Delta State, has commenced the sale of admission forms for its Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB) programme for the 2026/2027 academic session.
The JUPEB programme provides successful candidates with an opportunity to gain Direct Entry admission into 200-level undergraduate degree programmes after completion of the programme. Available courses cover Engineering, Environmental Management, Transport and Science disciplines.
Programmes available include Marine Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum and Gas Engineering, Nautical Science, Transport Logistics Management, Maritime Economics and Finance, Computer Science, Industrial Chemistry, Fisheries and Aquaculture, Environmental Management and Pollution, among others.
Applicants are required to have five O’Level credit passes in relevant subjects from WAEC, NECO, GCE or NABTEB at not more than two sittings. Interested candidates can apply through the NMU portal at https://eportal.nmu.edu.ng/ after paying a non-refundable application fee of ₦10,000.
The deadline for submission of applications is October 30, 2026. Candidates are advised to review the admission requirements carefully before completing their applications.

Nigeria Maritime University Admission List 2026/2027 is Out
Nigeria Maritime University (NMU) has released its admission list for the 2026/2027 academic session. Candidates who applied for admission can now check their admission status through JAMB CAPS using their JAMB login details. To check, visit the JAMB eFacility portal, sign in, select Check Admission Status, choose Access my CAPS, and open Admission Status to view the outcome.
Candidates may see different responses on CAPS, including Admission Offered, Admission in Progress, Recommended, Not Admitted, or Pending. “Admission Offered” means JAMB has approved the admission and the candidate can accept or reject it. “Admission in Progress” or “Recommended” indicates that the institution has recommended the candidate but the JAMB approval process is still ongoing, while “Not Admitted” or “Pending” means a final offer has not yet been confirmed.
Candidates who receive an admission offer can accept or reject it through biometrics at an approved JAMB CBT centre or by sending ACCEPT or REJECT via SMS to 55019 or 66019 using their JAMB-registered phone number. Candidates should have up to N50 airtime available for the SMS process. After accepting the offer, they can print their JAMB admission letter. Candidates checking CAPS on a phone who cannot see the Admission Status option may need to use Chrome and enable Request desktop site.

NIMASA World Maritime Day Essay Competition 2026
The Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) has announced sponsorship of the 2026 World Maritime Day Essay Competition organised by SAMUELSON for eligible Year 1 and Year 2 students of tertiary institutions in Nigeria. The competition is open to students from universities, maritime academies and other recognised tertiary institutions.
Participants are required to write on the theme “From Policy to Practice: Powering Maritime Excellence”, focusing on how maritime policies can be effectively implemented to improve Nigeria’s maritime sector. The competition aims to encourage young Nigerians to contribute ideas on maritime development, safety, security and sustainability.
Eligible students must submit original essays in Microsoft Word format, with a maximum length of 1,200 words (±10%), using font size 12 and double spacing. Entries must not contain plagiarism, and the organisers stated that artificial intelligence must not be used in preparing the essay. Applicants are also required to attach proof of studentship, including a letter of admission and valid student identity card.
The essay submission deadline is 24 September 2026. Completed entries, together with proof of studentship, should be sent to both wmdessay@nimasa.gov.ng and mail@samuelson.com.ng. Winners will receive education grants, laptops, certificates and award plaques.
