Redeemer’s University, Ede – RUN

Redeemer’s University  widely known as RUN  is a private Christian university located in Ede, Osun State, Nigeria. It was established in 2005 by the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), under the leadership of Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, the General Overseer of RCCG. The university was officially licensed by the Federal Government of Nigeria on May 6, 2005, and began academic activities shortly thereafter. Redeemer’s University is owned by the Redeemed Christian Church of God and is part of the RCCG’s network of educational institutions. RUN is a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU). The university’s motto is Knowledge with Character and Impact. The current Vice-Chancellor is Professor Akinola S. Fasuba. The university is located adjacent to the Redemption Camp along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

History of the Institution

Redeemer’s University was conceived as a tertiary institution that would raise a new generation of leaders who would be God-fearing, academically excellent, and have a passion for positive societal impact. The university was established by the Redeemed Christian Church of God, one of the largest evangelical churches in the world, under the visionary leadership of Pastor E.A. Adeboye.

In 2005, the university obtained its license from the Federal Government and commenced academic operations. The university started with a handful of faculties and has since grown into a comprehensive institution offering undergraduate and postgraduate degrees across multiple disciplines. RUN has continued to expand its infrastructure, academic programs, and research output. The university is recognized for its serene environment, strong moral values, and commitment to academic excellence. Over the years, Redeemer’s University has produced graduates who have excelled in various fields both within Nigeria and internationally. The university maintains strong ties with the RCCG, which provides spiritual and institutional support.

Admission Requirements

UTME (Undergraduate) Admission

  • A minimum of five (5) O’Level credit passes including English Language and Mathematics, obtained in not more than two sittings in WAEC, NECO, GCE O’Level, or NABTEB.

  • A valid JAMB UTME score meeting RUN’s minimum cut-off mark is required.

  • Candidates must be at least 16 years of age at the time of admission.

  • Candidates must participate in the Redeemer’s University Post-UTME screening exercise.

  • Candidates must select Redeemer’s University as their first choice institution in JAMB. However, candidates who did not choose RUN as first choice can apply for a JAMB change of institution form.

Note: Candidates awaiting O’Level results may also apply, provided the results are released before admission is finalized.

Direct Entry Admission

Candidates with relevant A’Level passes, ND (Upper Credit), HND, NCE, or JUPEB qualifications may apply for Direct Entry into 200 Level. Relevant O’Level credit requirements apply in addition.

Cut-off Mark

The last known JAMB cut-off mark for Redeemer’s University is 160 for most programmes. However, due to high competition, candidates with higher scores (180 and above) have a significantly better chance of admission. Professional programmes like Medicine and Surgery, Nursing, and Law may have higher effective cut-off marks.

Candidates must also participate in the RUN Post-UTME screening exercise and achieve a satisfactory score. All candidates must be at least 16 years of age.
