Lead City University  widely known as LCU  is a private university located in Ibadan, Oyo State, South-West Nigeria. Established in February 2005, LCU holds the distinction of being the first private university in South-Western Nigeria . The university was originally named City University, Ibadan, before its name was changed to Lead City University, Ibadan, on March 7, 2005, to avoid confusion with other institutions . The university is owned by Eduserve Consult, an educational consultancy group, and was founded by Professor Jide Owoeye, who serves as the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council . History of the Institution

Lead City University was established in February 2005 by Eduserve Consult, an educational consultancy group founded by Professor Jide Owoeye. Professor Owoeye holds a B.Sc. in Sociology from the University of Ibadan, and an M.Sc. and Ph.D. in International Relations from Obafemi Awolowo University, where he later became a professor in 2002 . He has authored eight books, including Japan’s Policy in Africa (1992), and received the Professional Excellence Award from the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes in 2009 .

The university was originally named City University, Ibadan, but the name was changed to Lead City University, Ibadan, on March 7, 2005, to avoid confusion with other institutions . As the first private university in South-Western Nigeria, LCU broke new ground in private higher education in the region . UTME (Undergraduate) Admission

• A minimum of five (5) O’Level credit passes including English Language and Mathematics, obtained in not more than two sittings in WAEC, NECO, GCE O’Level, or NABTEB .

• A valid JAMB UTME score is required. Candidates who did not originally choose Lead City University in their UTME application can also apply .

• All eligible candidates must participate in the LCU Post-UTME Screening exercise.

Direct Entry Admission
