The Federal University of Education, Zaria (FUEZ) is a federal institution dedicated to teacher education and educational research in Nigeria. The university evolved from the Federal College of Education (FCE), Zaria, which had been a major teacher-training institution in Kaduna State for many years.

In 2023, the Federal Government of Nigeria upgraded the Federal College of Education, Zaria to a Federal University of Education, enabling the institution to award bachelor’s degrees in education and related disciplines. The upgrade was part of a national effort to improve teacher education and expand access to university-level training for educators across Nigeria.

The university focuses on producing qualified teachers and education specialists in areas such as sciences, languages, arts, social sciences, and vocational education. With the approval of the National Universities Commission (NUC), the institution has begun offering undergraduate degree programmes through UTME and Direct Entry admissions.
