Federal Polytechnic, Wannune  commonly known as FEDPOLY WANNUNE  is a Federal Government-owned polytechnic located in Wannune, Tarka Local Government Area, Benue State, Nigeria. It is one of Nigeria’s new-generation federal polytechnics, established to promote technical, vocational, and entrepreneurial education and support manpower development in the Middle Belt region.

The institution offers National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes across science, engineering, environmental, and management disciplines, with emphasis on practical training and industry-relevant skills.

History of the Institution

Federal Polytechnic, Wannune was established by the Federal Government of Nigeria as part of efforts to expand access to technical education and skills acquisition across underserved regions.

The Polytechnic operates from its campus along KM 55, Makurdi–Gboko Road, Wannune, and continues to develop its academic structure, facilities, and programmes.

The institution is committed to producing graduates who are academically sound, entrepreneurial, and adaptable to modern work environments, aligning with national development goals.

Admission Requirements

ND Admission

• Minimum of five (5) O’Level credit passes including English Language and Mathematics
• Acceptable exams: WAEC, NECO, NABTEB
• A minimum JAMB UTME score of 100 and above
• Candidates must choose Federal Polytechnic Wannune as first choice
• Change of institution is allowed through JAMB portal if necessary

HND Admission

• National Diploma (ND) with at least Lower Credit
• Minimum of one-year Industrial Training (SIWES)
• Five (5) O’Level credits including English and Mathematics
• Candidates with Pass may require additional work experience
