Federal Polytechnic Ukana SUG Warns Against Unauthorised Student Mobilisation for External Events
The Students’ Union Government (SUG) of Federal Polytechnic Ukana has warned students, student leaders, departmental representatives, associations, clubs and other groups against mobilising students for external events and gatherings without prior approval.
The union stated that no individual, association or organisation is permitted to invite, organise, recruit or transport students to external programmes, meetings, political activities or social gatherings without notifying the Dean of Student Affairs and obtaining approval from both the Dean and the SUG President.
Anyone planning to mobilise students must submit the relevant details and secure approval before making public announcements, circulating invitations or arranging transportation. The SUG clarified that simply informing either office or claiming to have received verbal permission does not amount to official approval. The directive applies to everyone, regardless of their position, title or affiliation.
The union described the notice as a final warning, adding that anyone found violating the directive would be reported to the appropriate institutional authorities for disciplinary action in line with the polytechnic’s regulations. Students have also been advised not to participate in or facilitate unauthorised mobilisations.
