About the University

 

 

The Federal University of Agriculture, Mubi was established on 28 May 2023 following executive approval from the then President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The University has begun academic activities at its temporary site in Mubi North, Adamawa State.

Role and Duties

The Bursar is the Chief Financial Officer of the University, responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for:

  • Managing all financial operations, including budgeting, accounting, cash management, and internal control.
  • Leading financial planning, reporting, and audit coordination.
  • Overseeing procurement, financial compliance, and risk management.
  • Carrying out any other duties assigned by the Council or Vice-Chancellor.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must meet the following minimum criteria:

Academic:

  • A first degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field.
  • Fellowship or membership of a recognised professional accounting body (such as ICAN, ANAN, ACCA, ACA, or CPA).

Experience:

  • At least 14 years of post-qualification experience, including a minimum of 4 years in a senior financial or administrative position (for example, as Deputy Bursar or its equivalent).

Age Limit:

  • Candidates must not be above 59 years at the time of appointment.

Skills and Attributes:

  • Proven integrity and transparency.
  • Strong grasp of financial control systems.
  • Proficiency in ICT, including experience with ERP or accounting software.
  • Sound leadership and communication skills.

Additional Requirements:

  • A clean service record.
  • Evidence of creativity in financial management and capacity to lead reforms.

Terms of Appointment and Remuneration

  • The appointment is for an initial term of five years, renewable for one additional year upon satisfactory performance.
  • Salary and conditions of service are those approved for the post of Bursar in Nigerian universities or as determined by the University Council.
  • The successful candidate will be placed on a grade level appropriate to their qualifications and experience.

2026 University Rankings: See What Position Your Institution Holds

The University of Ibadan (UI) in Oyo State has been named Nigeria’s best university in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2026.

Published on Thursday on THE’s website, the report places UI in the 801–1,000 range globally—returning to a spot it last held in 2023. The university climbed from fourth place in 2025 to reclaim the top national position, overtaking Covenant University, which led in 2024 and 2025.

 

 

How the Ranking Works

This year, THE evaluated 2,191 universities across 115 countries, using 18 performance indicators grouped into five areas: teaching, research environment, research quality, industry engagement, and international outlook.

Globally, the analysis covered 174.9 million citations drawn from 18.7 million research papers, along with survey responses from more than 108,000 scholars.

Nigeria’s Top Performers

UI leads the Nigerian list, followed by the University of Lagos (UNILAG), Bayero University, and Covenant University. Landmark University ranks fifth.

UNILAG stands out for its research quality, scoring 66.7—the highest among Nigerian universities. Bayero University (BUK) earned top marks for international outlook, while Covenant University scored highest for industry links, showing strong collaboration with the private sector.

Where Nigerian Universities Stand Globally

Of the 51 Nigerian universities featured this year, only UI and UNILAG ranked between 801–1,000. BUK, Covenant, and Landmark Universities followed in the 1001–1200 band.

Five others—Ahmadu Bello University, Federal University of Technology Minna, University of Ilorin, University of Jos, and the University of Nigeria, Nsukka—ranked between 1201–1500. Fourteen universities were placed above 1501, and 27 others were not ranked.

Once payment’s done, you’ll get a PIN — don’t lose it. It’s your golden ticket for everything that follows.

WAEC GCE registration steps

  • Step 1: Pay and get your PIN from any approved bank or app.
  • Step 2: Visit WAEC registration site and log in using the PIN.
  • Step 3: Keep your National Identification Number (NIN) ready. You’ll need it to continue.
  • Step 4: If you have special needs (sight, hearing, mobility), mention it during registration.
  • Step 5: Complete your form carefully within two weeks. Double-check everything: your name, subjects, photo, gender, and date of birth. Print your Admission Notice — it also carries your Result Checker PIN.

Key Deadlines

  • PIN Purchase Ends: Friday, 17 October 2025
  • Registration Closes: Sunday, 19 October 2025 at 11:59 p.m.

EKSU Acceptance Fee Amount Payment Guidlines 2025/2026

This is to inform all the candidates offered provisional admission into the Ekiti State University (EKSU) various first degree programmes during the 2025/2026 academic session that they can now proceed with the payment of their acceptance fee.

 

 

The payment must be made directly through the official EKSU portal.

EKSU Acceptance Fee Amounts

Here’s the current fee set by the university for all newly admitted students:

  • Law, Nursing, Anatomy, Physiology, Surgery, and Medicine – ₦112,000
  • All Other Courses – ₦62,000

These fees apply only to those who have gained admission for the 2025/2026 academic session.

Steps to Pay EKSU Acceptance Fee

Follow the procedure below to pay the acceptance fee:

  1. Visit the EKSU Portal eksuportal.eksu.edu.ng/login.
  2. Enter your JAMB Registration Number as your username.
  3. Use “password1” as your default password.
  4. After logging in, change your password right away for safety.
  5. On your dashboard, click “Fees Payment.”
  6. Under the payment section, choose “Pay Now.”
  7. Provide your active email and phone number.
  8. Click “Make Payment.”
  9. A new page appears, select “Pay Now” again to confirm.
  10. Fill in your ATM card details carefully.
  11. Your bank will send you a One-Time Password (OTP).
  12. Enter the OTP to finalise your payment.
  13. You’ll be redirected to the EKSU portal once payment goes through.

Important Notice

  • Only pay through the official EKSU portal.
  • Do not share your password or card details with anyone.
  • EKSU will not take responsibility for payments made through third-party agents.

2. Admission in Progress (AIP)

This one means your school has seen your application and liked what they saw. They’ve pushed it up for final approval. It’s still in the works, so hang tight.

3. Recommended

You’ve been recommended for admission, but JAMB still needs to give the green light. Kind of like waiting for the final “yes” from the big boss.

4. Not Admitted

Oof. This simply means you haven’t been selected yet. Maybe the school hasn’t rolled out all its lists or your turn is still in review. Don’t lose hope; these things come in batches.

5. Pending

Your file is still under review. Nothing’s final yet, so you might still get that call-up.

What to Do After You Get Admitted

If you’ve got an admission offer, don’t waste time.
Send ACCEPT or REJECT to 55019 or 66019 from the phone number you used to register for JAMB. After accepting, go on and print your JAMB admission letter for record-keeping.

A little reminder: always double-check your details before sending that text. You don’t want to accept or reject by mistake. That’d be wahala you don’t need.

A Quick Tip for Mobile Users

Like I mentioned earlier, if you can’t see your admission status on your phone, don’t stress. Open your Chrome browser, tap the three dots, and choose ‘Request Desktop Site’. The full page will appear, just like on a laptop. Problem solved.

There’s another way to confirm your admission — through JAMB CAPS. If you prefer that route, here’s what to do:

  • Go to the JAMB e-Facility portal.
  • Log in with your JAMB details.
  • Scroll to find “Check Admission Status”.
  • Click “Access my CAPS.”
  • Tap “Admission Status.”

And there you go. If it says “Admission Offered,” congrats, your spot is waiting.

The Federal College of Medical Laboratory Science and Technology (FCMLST), Jos is now accepting Post-UTME applications (Batch B) for the 2025/2026 academic session. This is for candidates interested in full-time National Diploma (ND) programmes in Medical Laboratory Technology and Environmental Health Technology.
