History of Augustine University
Augustine University was founded by the Catholic Archdiocese of Lagos under the vision of His Eminence, Anthony Olubunmi Okogie, former Archbishop of Lagos. The university was created to provide quality higher education based on Catholic values, academic excellence, discipline, leadership, and entrepreneurship.
The institution received its operating licence from the National Universities Commission (NUC) on 5 March 2015 and was formally inaugurated on 23 October 2015. Academic activities began with the admission of pioneer 100-level students on 30 November 2015, while the maiden matriculation ceremony took place on 1 April 2016.
