The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has commenced registration for the 2026 WASSCE for Private Candidates – First Series. Interested candidates are advised to register early to avoid missing deadlines and to prepare adequately for the exam.

Candidates can pay the fee at branches of any accredited banks or agents, with an additional N500 commission:

Walk-in Candidates:

Candidates with visual, hearing, speech, mobility, or other impairments must indicate their condition during registration to receive special arrangements.
Registration Steps

Purchase a Registration PIN from an accredited bank, agent, or WAEC office.

Access the WAEC portal and complete your registration within two weeks of first login.

Ensure all personal information (name, gender, date of birth, passport photo, and subjects) is accurate.

Print the Admission Notice as proof of successful registration; it will also contain your Result Checker PIN.

Fingerprint authentication will be required using the UareU digitalPersona fingerprint device.
Examination Format

Computer-Based Test (CBT): All objective papers

Hybrid Format: Essay and practical papers displayed on-screen, answers written on answer booklets

Optional online Mock Examination will be available for registered candidates, with dates communicated via SMS, email, and social media.
Important Instructions

Registration fee is non-refundable.

Passport photos must be JPEG, 275×314 pixels, 72 dpi, with a contrasting background. Poor quality images will invalidate the registration.

Candidates must study the syllabus and regulations available on the WAEC portal.

Examinees must attend in mufti, without professional uniforms, mobile phones, or electronic gadgets.

Results of candidates sitting in multiple centres will be cancelled.

Examination malpractice will attract cancellation of results and prosecution.

Candidates must provide valid email addresses and phone numbers for communication.
