History of the Institution
Tai Solarin Federal University of Education, Ijagun (TASUED) was established by the Ogun State Government on 29 January 2005 and later approved by the National Universities Commission (NUC) on 28 November 2005 as Nigeria’s first specialized university of education.
The university evolved from the Tai Solarin College of Education (TASCE), which was originally founded as Ogun State College of Education in 1978. The transformation allowed the institution to expand its academic offerings from teacher training to full degree programmes in education and other disciplines.
TASUED was named after Dr. Tai Solarin, a renowned Nigerian educationist and founder of Mayflower School, Ikenne. The university focuses on preparing educators with strong knowledge of both subject content and teaching methodology to improve the quality of education in Nigeria.

Undergraduate Admission

Candidates must obtain five O’Level credits including English Language and Mathematics.

Candidates must sit for the UTME conducted by JAMB.

Applicants must select TASUED as their preferred institution during UTME registration.

Candidates must participate in the Post-UTME screening exercise conducted by the university.
Direct Entry Admission

Candidates must possess NCE, ND, HND, or equivalent qualifications.

Applicants must apply through JAMB Direct Entry and complete the university screening process.
School Fees
Approximate tuition for fresh students ranges between ₦148,500 and ₦180,500 per academic session, depending on the course of study.
