Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike (MOUAU) is a federal university located in Umudike, Abia State, Nigeria. It was established by the Federal Government of Nigeria via Decree No. 48 of November 1992 and commenced formal academic activities in May 1993. The university was named after Dr. Michael Iheonukara Okpara, a former Premier of Eastern Nigeria known for his contributions to agriculture and rural development. Admission Requirements

Undergraduate Admission

  • Candidates must sit for the UTME conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
  • Applicants must obtain at least five (5) O’Level credits including English Language and Mathematics in not more than two sittings.
  • Correct subject combinations relevant to the chosen course must be met.

The topic of the lecture is Tiny Insect Pests and Huge Crop Losses: Dilemma of an Agricultural Entomologist, reflecting ongoing concerns about sustainable farming and effective pest management strategies.

The lecture will be delivered by Prof. Elechi Franca Asawalam, a Professor of Agricultural Entomology in the Department of Plant Health Management, College of Crop and Soil Sciences.
