The management of Kwara State University (KWASU) has announced the commencement of academic activities at the Ilesha-Baruba Campus for the 2025/2026 academic session. This development marks another milestone in the university’s multi-campus system, established to expand learning opportunities and strengthen community development.
KWASU, founded in 2008 and operational since 2009, was established by an Act of Law to run campuses in Malete, Osi, and Ilesha-Baruba. While the Malete campus began operations at the inception of the university, the Osi campus started in the 2024/2025 academic session, housing the Faculty of Environmental Sciences.
KWASU Ilesha-Baruba Campus Set to Begin Operations
The university management has confirmed that the Ilesha-Baruba Campus is now fully prepared to host the Faculty of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine. The faculty will begin lectures this 2025/2026 academic session with students and staff from the following departments:
- Crop Production
- Animal Production
- Fisheries and Aquaculture
Academic activities are scheduled to begin on Monday, 3rd November 2025.
The university has also assured staff, students, and parents that all necessary arrangements have been made to ensure a smooth and productive start at the new campus.
