History of the Institution

The Federal University of Allied Health Sciences, Enugu (FUAHSE) is a specialized federal university established to provide education and research in allied health and medical sciences. The institution was created by the Federal Government of Nigeria in 2023 as part of efforts to strengthen healthcare education and expand training opportunities for health professionals in the country.

The university evolved from the Federal College of Dental Technology and Therapy, Enugu, a long-standing institution that trained dental technologists, dental therapists, and other allied health professionals. The upgrade to a federal university allowed the institution to expand its academic scope to include a broader range of health science programmes while maintaining its strong foundation in dental and allied health education.

FUAHSE is expected to play a major role in training skilled healthcare professionals who will contribute to Nigeria’s healthcare system, medical research, and public health development.

  • Candidates must possess at least five credit passes in O’Level examinations (WAEC, NECO, or equivalent) including English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.

FUAHSE Announces Resumption Date For 2025/2026 Session

The Resumption date for the 2025/2026 academic session has been officially announced by the management of the Federal University of Allied Health Sciences, Enugu (FUAHSE). Academic activities for the first semester are set to reopen on Sunday, 2nd November 2025.

Students are expected to return to campus on Sunday, 2nd November 2025, as lectures will begin promptly the next day, Monday, 3rd November 2025.

 

 

Details of the FUAHSE Resumption Schedule

The university has outlined the following arrangements for the start of the academic year:

  • Resumption Date: Sunday, 2nd November 2025
  • Commencement of Lectures: Monday, 3rd November 2025

All staff and students are encouraged to settle in before lectures begin, as academic activities will proceed without delay. The early start aims to ensure that the academic calendar stays on track.

First Semester Resumption Quiz

Students should note that the first semester resumption quiz, which forms part of the continuous assessment, will take place within the third week after resumption. Attendance and participation are mandatory, as this exercise contributes to each student’s overall grade.

Federal University of Allied Health Sciences Enugu has opened postgraduate admission for 2025/2026 session. Interested candidates can apply online between 15 September and 5 November 2025. Full details on programmes, requirements, and method of application are shared below.

The Federal University of Allied Health Sciences, Enugu has put out the official notice for postgraduate applications. For the 2025/2026 academic year, the School of Postgraduate Studies is opening its doors to candidates aiming for higher degrees. The available programmes cover Ph.D, M.Sc, PGD, and even a Doctor of Social Work (DSW) in Social Work.

It’s a wide spread, touching different parts of health sciences, from management and leadership, to dental health, and even biomedical engineering.

Admission is not just about applying, you need the right grades:

  • PGD requires CGPA of 2.00
  • M.Sc needs 2.5

How to apply step by step

  1. Visit the FUAHSE portal.
  2. Click on “online application forms” then choose postgraduate.
  3. Enter your phone number, submit, and generate invoice.
  4. Take the invoice to the bank, pay via REMITA, and collect the RRR slip.
  5. Return to the portal, complete the form online.
  6. Submit acknowledgement slip, credentials, and referee forms to the Postgraduate School.

Application fee is ₦25,000 plus extra administrative charges.
