If you’ve ever sat through a convocation, you’ll know it’s more than just gowns and handshakes. It’s a day that smells of triumph, relief, and a touch of nostalgia. This October, that spirit comes alive again as Newgate College of Health Technology, Minna, sets the stage for its 10th Convocation Ceremony.

It’s been officially confirmed—the ceremony will take place on Saturday, 11th October 2025, at the Posh Event Marquee, right along the Eastern Bye-Pass in Minna, Niger State. Guests are expected to be seated by 9:00 a.m. sharp. And if you know how these things go, it’s best to show up early. You don’t want to stroll in mid-procession while the band is already playing.

Why This Convocation Matters

Convocations have a funny way of stirring up emotions. It’s that one day where students transform into graduates, and tired parents suddenly forget all the stress of school fees. For Newgate College of Health Technology, this isn’t just a formal event—it’s a proud milestone. Ten convocations mean ten cycles of growth, ten sets of graduates ready to step into the health sector, and ten years of shaping lives.

The college management has described the ceremony as a “moment of pride” for both staff and students. And truly, it is. After all, behind every smile on that stage is a story—a few sleepless nights, countless lectures, and maybe one or two surprises from those unpredictable practical exams.

Details You Shouldn’t Miss

Here’s a quick rundown for anyone planning to attend:

  • Date: Saturday, 11th October 2025
  • Time: 9:00 a.m. (arrive early!)
  • Venue: Posh Event Marquee, Eastern Bye-Pass, Minna, Niger State

The college is throwing the doors wide open—graduates, families, friends, and even the general public are invited. It’s a celebration of effort and endurance, and everyone’s welcome to share in it.

More Than Just Caps and Certificates

There’s something beautiful about covocation days. It’s where laughter meets tears, and camera flashes capture years of unseen struggle. You see parents clutching their phones, trying not to cry too early, and lecturers standing tall, proud like farmers during harvest.

For many of these graduates, it’s the end of one chapter and the beginning of another. Some will go on to hospitals, some to public health agencies, others to private clinics. But for that day, everyone shares one thing—joy. Pure and simple
