Benue State University of Agriculture, Science and Technology (BSUAST), Ihugh, through its Institute of Foundation and Entrepreneurship Studies (IFES), has announced the commencement of registration for candidates admitted into the 2025/2026 Pre-Degree/Remedial Programme.

EducationNGR gathered that the registration exercise is scheduled to run for two weeks, and admitted candidates are advised to complete all processes within the approved timeline.

Who The Notice Applies To

The announcement is directed at candidates offered admission into the 2025/2026 Pre-Degree/Remedial Programme of BSUAST. Parents, guardians, and prospective learners are also encouraged to take note, as the registration schedule affects orientation and academic onboarding activities.

Registration Period

BSUAST fixed the registration window as follows:

• Start date: Monday, 26 January 2026

• End date: Friday, 6 February 2026

The university advised candidates to complete registration within this two-week period to secure their placement in the programme and avoid delays.

What Follows Acceptance And Screening

After acceptance of admission and completion of screening, admitted learners will proceed to pay the approved user charges. According to the university, the charges are structured to cover:

• Academic instruction

• Laboratory practicals

• ICT-enabled learning

• Health and utility services

• Examinations

• Structured student development activities

Mandatory Entrepreneurship And Practical Skills Training

BSUAST stated that Entrepreneurship and Practical Skills training is compulsory for all Pre-Degree/Remedial students. The programme includes hands-on training in areas such as technology, agriculture, vocational skills, and enterprise development. This component is designed to equip learners with practical competence and self-reliance skills alongside their academic foundation.

Purpose Of The Pre-Degree / Remedial Programme

The BSUAST IFES Pre-Degree/Remedial Programme is designed to serve as a bridge to undergraduate studies. It combines academic preparation, digital literacy, and enterprise-oriented skills in line with the university’s guiding philosophy of Excellence, Relevance, and Legacy.

Admitted candidates are advised to adhere strictly to the registration timeline and follow official instructions from the university to ensure a smooth start to the programme.

Invitation for Applications

Suitably qualified candidates who participated in the 2025/2026 JAMB UTME and attained the required cut-off marks are invited to apply for admission into the university’s degree programmes.

Interested applicants are advised to visit any JAMB Office or accredited CBT centre to complete a Change of Institution to UAST, Ihugh as their First Choice institution.

• Nursing Science: 160 and above
• Medical Laboratory Science (MLS): 160 and above
• Human Nutrition and Dietetics: 160 and above
• Complementary and Alternative Medicine: 160 and above
• All Other Programmes: 150 and above (Agriculture, Environmental Sciences, Engineering, Management, Education, etc.)

Application and Post-UTME Procedure

Candidates applying to UAST should follow the steps below:

1. Change institution to UAST, Ihugh on the JAMB CAPS Portal through any accredited CBT Centre or JAMB Office.
2. Ensure your O-Level results are correctly uploaded to JAMB CAPS. Candidates without uploaded SSCE results will not be considered.
3. Visit the UAST Admissions Portal via portal.bsuast.edu.ng to register for the Post-UTME Screening.
4. Complete the online form and upload the required documents:
   • Passport photograph
   • O-Level results
   • UTME result slip
5. Pay the non-refundable ₦2,000 Post-UTME Screening Fee.
6. Print and keep the Screening Acknowledgement Slip for the verification process.

Important Notes

• All admissions will be processed strictly through JAMB CAPS.
• Candidates must ensure their SSCE results are uploaded; otherwise, they will not receive admission consideration.
• Any candidate found to have submitted false or misleading information will be immediately deregistered and handed over to law enforcement agencies.
