Abia State University (ABSU) has announced the date and arrangements for its 44th Matriculation Ceremony and released detailed instructions for students expected to participate.
The university stated that the ceremony is compulsory for all eligible fresh students who have met the required admission conditions.

The matriculation ceremony has been scheduled as follows:

Categories Of Students To Matriculate
According to the university, the following categories of students are expected to take part in the matriculation ceremony:

Postgraduate students who are not graduates of Abia State University

All first-year undergraduate students of the Regular programme

First-year undergraduate students of the Institute for Continuing Education (ICE) who have paid their school fees

Other duly admitted and cleared students who, for valid reasons, could not matriculate in their year of admission
Students are advised to confirm their eligibility category before proceeding.
Matriculation Regalia And Brochure Fee
The university fixed the cost of hiring the matriculation regalia, comprising gown and cap, along with the brochure, at N15,000.00 only.
Payment is to be made strictly at the ABSU Micro-Finance Bank, Uturu.
Payment Deadline And Collection Schedule
ABSU directed that payment must be completed on or before Tuesday, 24th February, 2026.
Issuance of matriculation materials will commence on Wednesday, 25th February, 2026, and students are expected to plan accordingly.
Eligibility And Compulsory Notice
The university emphasised that the matriculation ceremony is compulsory for all fresh students.
Only bona fide students who have accepted their offer of admission, paid their prescribed fees, and registered their courses as required will be eligible to participate.
EducationNGR also learnt that students who fail to meet these conditions will not be allowed to matriculate under any circumstance.
