History of the Institution
Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike (MOUAU) is a federal university located in Umudike, Abia State, Nigeria. It was established by the Federal Government of Nigeria via Decree No. 48 of November 1992 and commenced formal academic activities in May 1993. The university was named after Dr. Michael Iheonukara Okpara, a former Premier of Eastern Nigeria known for his contributions to agriculture and rural development. Admission Requirements
Undergraduate Admission
- Candidates must sit for the UTME conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
- Applicants must obtain at least five (5) O’Level credits including English Language and Mathematics in not more than two sittings.
- Correct subject combinations relevant to the chosen course must be met.
- Candidates must choose Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike, as their first choice institution during UTME registration.
- Applicants must participate in the MOUAU Post-UTME screening exercise.
- Transfer candidates must meet departmental entry requirements and provide academic transcripts.
Direct Entry Admission
Direct Entry candidates with relevant qualifications such as ND, HND, or NCE with specified credit levels may be considered for admission into appropriate levels of undergraduate programmes.
Postgraduate Admission
