Kogi State Polytechnic, located in the ancient confluence city of Lokoja, stands as the premier tertiary institution dedicated to technical and vocational education within Kogi State, Nigeria. Established in 1992 by the then state military administrator, Colonel Danladi Mohammed Zakari, the polytechnic was founded with a clear mandate to provide practical, skill-based training and produce middle-level manpower crucial for the state’s industrial and economic development. The institution operates from two main campuses: the sprawling main campus in Lokoja and a smaller campus in the central town of Osara, which primarily hosts the School of Agriculture.
