Akwa Ibom State University (AKSU) has opened online applications and screening for admission into Nursing, Medical, Health Sciences, and related programmes for the 2025/2026 academic session.
The university confirmed that approval has been granted by the National Universities Commission (NUC) for AKSU to run full-time Bachelor’s degree programmes under the Faculty of Health Sciences, starting from the 2025/2026 session. EducationNGR also learnt that the approval covers all listed programmes for the new intake.

AKSU announced the following courses as approved for admission in the 2025/2026 academic session:

UTME Cut-Off Marks and Eligibility
The university set different UTME cut-off marks for Nursing Science and the other Health Sciences programmes.
Nursing Science (B.N.Sc.)

Only UTME candidates who chose Akwa Ibom State University as first choice

Minimum UTME score of 290
Other Health Sciences Programmes

Minimum UTME score of 265
AKSU advised candidates who did not select the university as first choice to carry out a Change of Institution to Akwa Ibom State University through the JAMB portal before applying.
Opening Date for Online Registration
The online registration and screening portal for the 2025/2026 admission exercise opens on Monday, 5 January 2026.
The university stressed that only candidates who successfully complete the online registration will be considered for admission. Incomplete registration automatically disqualifies an applicant from the screening process.

All documents must be clear and readable to avoid delays during screening.
How to Apply for AKSU Health Sciences Admission
Registration is strictly online through the official AKSU admission portal.
Candidates are required to:

Register using their JAMB registration number
-
Pay a ₦2,000 non-refundable registration fee (excluding bank charges)

Upload scanned documents in JPG format
-
Ensure each uploaded file is between 120KB and 150KB
AKSU warned that files outside the approved size range may not upload successfully, which could affect the screening process.
Important Warning to Applicants
The university cautioned candidates against fraudsters and unofficial admission handlers. AKSU made it clear that it does not use agents or third parties for admission processing.
All payments, registration steps, and enquiries must be carried out only through official Akwa Ibom State University platforms and channels. EducationNGR also learnt that applicants who deal with unauthorised persons do so at their own risk.
