African Aviation and Aerospace University Abuja (AAAU)

History of the Institution

The African Aviation and Aerospace University (AAAU), Abuja, was established in 2022 by the Federal Government of Nigeria under the supervision of the Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development. The university was created to provide specialized education and research in aviation and aerospace fields and to develop skilled professionals for the aviation industry in Nigeria and across Africa.

The institution was conceived to address the need for advanced aviation education that supports technological innovation, aviation safety, and professional training in Africa’s aviation sector. AAAU focuses on producing graduates with expertise in aviation management, engineering, meteorology, and other aviation-related disciplines.

The university commenced academic operations in 2023, beginning with a number of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes designed to support the development of aviation professionals.

Admission Requirements

Undergraduate Admission

Candidates must possess at least five credit passes in WAEC, NECO, or equivalent, including English Language and Mathematics.
Results must be obtained in not more than two sittings.
Candidates must sit for the UTME conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
Applicants must obtain an acceptable UTME score (minimum of 180) for consideration.
Candidates must also meet the subject combination requirements for their chosen programme.
